Needed to clean my k&n filter. Didn't have the time or the adequate number of f&cks to clean and reoil it, so I just got another washable filter from Autozone for $19.99.

FREE!!! New calipers, rotors, and pads!!! Long story short....Pep Boys has no clue what they are doing except one awesome 62 year old mechanic. They had some kid work on my truck the first night and he ROYALLY messed up everything. So..4 long days later after getting parts and the old guy fixing the kids mistakes, I walked out with a FREE brake job. He said they would have charged me over $1000 for parts and labor. SCORE!!!!:cheers:

That looks like a Limited console panel is that right?
What is the switch blank you are using and how are you planning on securing it?
Did you just use bondo to build up the sub structure?
Sorry for the questions but that is one heck of a great idea. That little space is a total waste to me. Putting switches there would be sweet.

So do you lose your 12v cigarette plugs or what? I guess it's not a problem when you hardwire your GPS and use USB to charge a phone.

Yes - it's a limited console I got off eBay. The sub structure is just 1/4" fiberboard I cut to shape and epoxied in. The switch box is a Blue Sea contura switch panel. It actually snaps right in but I'm going to bondo it in so it mirrors the beveled edges around the shifter for a factory look.
Once this panel goes in, the 12v cig socket will be relocated to the center console with a Blue Seas dual USB socket.

Put new front calipers (NAPA remans), pads, and rotors on the SR5 to cure a shimmy caused by a seized piston (inner lower one on the passenger side). We took it in for a free inspection at the local dealer and they wanted $460 just to surface the old rotors and put on new pads

I've never done brake work before, but thanks to this site and excellent writeups by Ducman and Kmvreter, I was able to tackle all the work myself in a couple of hours. Total out of pocket expense for all the parts and tools I didn't already have was under $400. Sure beats the dealer, plus now I have the know-how and tools to do it again in the future.

I really wish I took advantage of painting my new calipers when I did my brake job. Now they are already rust colored.....:tsk:

I say that every year when I replace mine... Maybe some year I'll actually do it...
