What did you do with your 4runner today?

Went to the shop to see what kind of progress Scott was making. One cam seal done...One to go! The vvti motors make swapping certain parts a real PITA.

im thinking of doing an amber or yellow tent on mine when i paint my headlights next month. only problem is finding amber tint paint.

Drove my momma around in my Runner to test drive a 3rd and 4th gen so she could decide which one she liked. Of coarse she picked the 4th gen YEAH!!! Now I just have to find her one.

I'm thinking really hard about getting these Roof Rack Lighting and mounting them on each side of the license plate. Thoughts?

You could probably use yellow film and a heat gun over the turn signal lens while spraying the housing black. I actually like that idea now. Gonna try it

I didn't know Zak had them in the lower grille. Besides to blind people I'd rather have them on the back. I want some on the roof rack but don't have the nerve to do that yet. I'm ready to do another mod just don't have a grand to spend.

I have them on either side of the rear license plate, I think that's what Steve thought you meant.

Not sure if you've seen it, but I recently read a post where someone was talking about a Japanese spray paint that is like niteshadez but is yellow. I can't remember the name unfortunately, perhaps google... I think it was pricey though.

Edit- it's also possible to use regular yellow spray paint and light coats, can't remember how it works but I've seen people do it with blacking out tail lights. Seems like it could work the same for a light yellow or orange.

Few days ago my TPMS light came on. This happened right about the time temps dropped back into the 30s, so I didn't think much about it.

Yesterday and today temps were back into the 40s and 50s, but the TPMS light didn't go away. After some investigating today, I found a roofing nail in one of the tires. Probably picked it up at work, where new construction is going on.

So tonight.....




This weekend....off to the shop for tire repair.

i would not advise anyone to paint like this guy did but this stuff should do the trick

Alex, I could swear I saw somewhere you can 't bore the 1GR out (due to some design in the block............. lined with something). Port/polish/forced Induction............ possible, sounds like a cool project!!

How much lift are you running? and what problems were you having with the CVs? Popping at full lock?

Running 5100s set at 1.75" with FJ springs for a total of 2.5". I now have close to 60k miles on this setup with no issues. CVs are damn near straight as well. Very slight downward angle toward the tires. I might take it to the highest notch in a few months.
