What did you do with your 4runner today?

My mom has the same color, base model though. It has NONE of the goodies in it that make an FJ an FJ. I hate that truck. It is next to useless even with great tires on it. Not enough power offroad, rides like a lumber wagon, back seat is useless, can't imagine why anyone would ever want to trade a comfy and capable 4Runner for an FJ..... I said my mom's was useless. It has nothing. No locker, no atrac, no cruise control, no extra lights, no gauges, nothing! It has no articulation, it's useless. I've seen some badass fj's, but hers isn't one of them....

I guess subjectively it's worthless (I personally don't buy bare bone vehicles, but that's me), but objectively (you mention ride/power/back seat space/articulation) all FJs, where they are fully loaded or bare bones are the same. (I know of no suspension upgrade from the factory). When you say her FJ is useless, then you pretty much say all FJs are useless. I'm not attacking ya, just making an observation.

Nope, and man you can make them badass easily too! I wish the 4Runner had all the aftermarket support the FJ does!

I understand what you are saying, but I have to digress. Yes they are the same vehicle, but that ATRAC system and a locker make a HUGE difference! Can you imagine the 4Runner without ATRAC? It wouldn't be that great either, not without modding it. I'm not saying all FJ's are useless, but if it doesn't have the offroad goodies or you haven't built that barebones version like hers up then yes, it is completely useless. She went offroading with me last fall. If there were any off-camber spots, hills, or anything to make her lose traction it just didn't do a damn. I could've drove my 4runner bone stock and walked circles around her. On the road it's a great truck. Winter tires take her through the snow with ease. That's it though.

That's it? OF course that it's. A bare bone FJ is targeted at a person who wants the image of a SUV but won't go on a trail, and that's ok. But a serious off-road enthusiast will buy a more optioned out FJ and/or modify it. How many 4Runners are bought and are NEVER taken off road?

Again, I'm not picking on ya, but I think a bare bones FJ is targeted at someone who only wants the "image" even though enthusiasts like us can see right through that. Again, that's ok. Does that make that particular FJ worthless? Maybe to someone, but not it's intended target customer.
The more sales, the better I say.

So I forgot to take pics of the reverse camera that I installed that isn't working... I'm gonna buy a new camera and hopefully that's the culprit. If not then forget this stupid wireless crap and run the RCA cable to the double din.

Out with the lift, in with the squishy ass springs

Had a hardline snap on me because it rusted through. I barely moved it a quarter of an inch, and it broke. Thank god autozone had a replacement line, and thank god it gave out in the driveway.

Didn't get to the rear springs or shocks yet. By the time I finished it was 1 degree outside.
