What did you do with your 4runner today?

Put some work into my rig this weekend. Scored a deal on a shrockworks bumper that was modified for glass fenders and a body lift. Had to undo all the modifications that the previous owner did which entailed hours of grinding and rewelding. Bolts were a PITA to realign but it works. Here are some pics.

Still has some work and touch ups left. Paint and a few weld spots needed on the wings. The rework was worth it for the price I got the bumper for. I'm happy with it.

Here you go...as I noted in my previous reply, I mistakenly ordered a gray cover instead of the charcoal, but I went ahead and installed it anyway. Took about 45 minutes - and you need to really pull hard on the thread to bring the edges of the wrap together.

I think I kind of like the 'two-tone' look and will probably just leave it. It sure feels better than the stock wheel.

I think I'll have to get one of those, it came out pretty good. I was looking at the two tone gray/black but I guess charcoal would match ours a little better. As you said, the steering wheel is too skinny from the factory, it needs help. It's like an 87 Ford.... Thanks for the pic!
 
And finally after 4 terrible hours of frustration of loosing nuts in the front bumper that I'm never going to see again unless I take the bumper off it finished minus lights being wire still have to do that

Looks great but just a warning - it looks like it's a little close to the fenders, they recommend 1/2-3/4" gap between the panels and bumpers to keep from damaging the fenders/filler panels when the body and bumper shift on the frame while flexing off road. If it's possible and you plan to use it off road, I'd lower it a little.
 
For the guys that used plasi-dip. How does it hold up against the elements and car washes. My front grill is starting to peel and the plastic on the hood scoop is oxidized and dosn't look dark grey anymore. I was gonna spray paint both, but I like the look of matte, better.

Since I live in the country, and run through the car wash every two days, I wanted to know if it would hold up against that. Or should I just paint everything?

I had it on my wheels for 6 months, running through a car was about once a week. i never had an issues. The only reason I took it off was because I got new wheels put on and I had them put stick on weights. I just put a new coat on last weekend. If you do it make sure you put a lot on. It will make it easier to take off if the need ever arises.

It's really easy to take the bumper off and put it back on just so you know. 6 bolts, unclip the wiring harness to fog lights, and it lifts right off. 2-3 minutes
 
Did you put it on in layers, or did you just spray a shit ton on the parts? How many cans should I get? Its just for the front grill and the plastic part in front of the hood scoop.
 
Removed the HCF a couple of days ago and got 2 mpg better on my drive to work today (~55 miles) according to my scanguage. Hopefully it's not a fluke.
 
Modified the stock bass boost remote to fit in my center glove box blanks, the led that comes with it is pretty bright, glows the inside just enough and not too much. You guys can't even tell it's a rockford unless you see my Sig.


 
Got the craigslist specials mounted up. The ride is amazing, very pleased. Now if I could just find some camburg UCAs in stock...

right, thank you! that was brought to my attention once I installed it. lining up the bolts was a PITA. i know i've gotta loosen them all up again and try to get that gap. hopefully it won't be too bad. thanks a lot.
