I gotta do this on the wife's GX. Did you just use a stndard round punch and dig it into the side there?

Yeah, i just ground down and sharpened the end to make sure it had a really nice point on it so it could digg in! Then started tapping it with a hammer, had to get it in a few different spot before it finally broke loose.

Rock Sliders

Had a local guy weld up some sliders for me. I wanted to keep them low profile but still protect the doors a little bit. I'm very happy with'em!

Replaced my driver side wheel bearing this weekend super easy instal. Then today i replaced the passenger side axle seal today. After swapping the CV a couple of weeks ago i noticed it started leaking, not a ton i just started noticing little spots and just drips here and there. Instal went smooth until i went to check the fluid after and couldn't get the fill plug out to check the fluid and ended up stripping it!Had to us a punch at the end, then i ended up replacing it with a new plug with a 19mm head so i don't have to worry about that in the future..

You should replace it was a dimple magnetic drain plug. Great item imo... Google will pop it right up.

I don't normally mess with stuff like this but the leather one gets dirty off-roading, so I think it's worth it! Low range offroad makes this perfect aisin hub clone for the shifter. The only snag was their threads are M12-1.25, and the 4Runner is M8-1.25. A simple threadsert fixed that!

Just talked to the garage, truck is all set, plugs and brakes done. He said after he put the new plugs it ran "smooth as a kitten.” So I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed that that was all it was.

Crap has to be a coil pack going bad or completely out. I believe they can test then at advance a Napa whatever you have in your town. Well plug you up to code reader and it will tell you witch one.

That's my new hope. I'm hoping the garage will agree to see it today and swap the coil pack to a different cylinder to see if the misfire moves with it.

Either way, i need to get a scan tool.

It's easy to get to the front two on both sides back one take some wiggle work or unbolting some crap above the back one it's a 10mm socket I believe if auto parts store has one and tells you which one I'd swap that bad boy out in the parking lot!

On driver side that bar running vertical you can see bolt facing out needs taken out if its drive side rear plug so you can access it with out busting every knuckle you have makes life a lot easier !
i was changing them last summer I think.

It's going back into the garage tomorrow so they can swap the coil around and see if the misfire follows it. thank you all for the input and suggestions, hopefully we get this nailed soon.

The garage is right downtown and that's as far as I dare drive it as I can smell that I'm not doing my catalytic converter any favors right now and I don't want to compound i$$ues. Nearest autoparts store is a 20 minutes drive.

I replaced it with one very similar to that one it just doesn't have a magnet. I thought only the bottom plus had a magnet in it? I am about to swap out my whole front clamshell in the next couple of months so i get one of those and instal it in the new one..

yup only the drain plugs have magnets in them from the factory... but stronger and more magnetic plugs can't hurt imo....

Visited with the boss of a local fab shop.. scheduling to have some sort of support to help keep my headlights in place.

After installing the ARB 4x4 bulbar, it now lacks the OEM body foundation that naturally keeps them from bouncing up and down.. down and up... ugh so annoying.

Well, does anyone know what im referring to? That has the same setup or the same problem? Whereas your headlights aren't very securely sturdy underneath...

I was lucky enough to drive over a razorblade (literally) at 70mph, over mountain pass with no shoulder to pull off on. So that's neat.

On the plus side, might as well replace all the tires!

Have a 2003, but found what i consider to be a good deal on a 08. overall in great shape with 130,000 miles, 4x4, $9500. did i do good? i live on maui so they are somewhat hard to come by.
