What did you do with your 4runner today?

Today I put a hole in the air conditioning condenser by accidentally stabbing it with a screwdriver.

Luckily, the radiator is already out, so replacing it shouldn't be that hard.

SO, you went over a speed bump and your shock punched a whole in your wheel well? This is the front shock correct? Not being funny, just never seen anything like this before.

I've got these over near where I live right by the bank. They're the new reinforced speed bumps.. They're actually pretty damn high you have to go REALLY slow in a car. I hit going 5mph.. The whole back and front will jump literally

I don't see how if properly mounted and secured the shock shaft moved and punctured the wheel well. Somethings not tight or you maxed your shock out and it had to move or explode.

It's the rear. Everything was done correctly. But I was going about 35 mph lol. I went back to look g the speed bump and originally it was a cement hump basically. And then they added the rubber lookinglastic ones. Basically just dumb on my part for going that fast over it. As a result I just got new shocks anyways. Pro comp prorunner series.

That's what I think it completely compressed and it just had to go up. and this was a Bilstien shock from an FJ trail team. Could have been the problem there but it was a little o-ring style clip that held the bushing in place, and I just don't see how that kept the bushing in place for so long. Since I replaced the shocks already the next thing is coils so I can get rid of my stock ones with a 1.5 inch spacer. Thinking of going with the toytec super flex HD coils. But I don't always have weight in the back

Got the 5100s mounted up yesterday.
Got the skull put on the wife's Venza.

And started my BMC mod. Probably going to end up taking out more and more as I get the tires mounted and see where I need more clearance. No pics yet.

Hahaha well damn lol. Yep those are the ones. Ur crazy for going that fast I always feel like I'm going to break something. How are the procomps vs whatever u had before? Bouncy or stiff

Got my matching spare tire, moved it to the roof and ordered my Gobi ladder. Today was a good day.

something still isnt right. I've jumped mine off a dune at 50mph and my shocks didnt puncture.

I think if I had bigger bump stops it could have prevented this, going over a speed bump to fast and the bushing clip on the shock have out and the shock extended out and popped this hole in the body.

For this to happen, the whole assembly would have to move, what, an inch-inch and a half? Was the bottom flange collapsed? I don't think you would have that much movement even if the bottom bushing completely gave up, unless the bottom flange or washer collapsed.

UCA and discos installed on the passenger side. Gonna make some adjustments and start on the drivers side today.

Also, what does everyone think of this? The uniball hardware came with a washer that is supposed to go on top. I noticed at full droop it makes contact with the snap ring. Wonder if this could cause any issues...

Just for kicks, what do your body mounts look like? Is there a chance they compressed too much and allowed your body to come down on the shock?

Installed an extension to the roof basket and removed the stock running boards.

Yeah it hit super hard and I felt the axle hit the bump stops.
Honestly they feel better than the Bilstien 5100s I paid $120 through 4 wheels parts for both and lifetime warranty on them, anything happens they replace them free

Body mounts are good. The inner rid of the shock extended all the way out and hit the body of it. New shocks fixed my problem.
