Changed the timing belt and water pump. Changed the oil. Cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body..
I REALLY need to get around to doing this...
grantprior13 did you go by a how to thread or a Haynes style
manual?
I had a buddy that has done it on his tundra, and is a mechanic.. so i just ordered a kit on amazon for around 150 and we spent the afternoon hooking it up... I wasn't about to try it solo.. definitely got lucky and just threw him a little cash, some lunch, and beers.. it was time consuming but if you are mechanically inclined you can probably do it..
Think one would be better off just plugging the leak and keeping an eye on the fluid level?this was actually on tuesday 5/10
Replaced my faulty transfer case motor (actuator) on my 67k 07 4Runner sr5 4wd. It wasn't hard to get it off, just gotta take out the driveshaft.
Once out it was a pain in the ass to align the rods and put the keepers (little ball looking things) in place. Then closing the casing wasn't fun at all. Had to re-seal it 2 times since it was binding on something. Anyways the truck runs like it did before the actuator went bad. All in all, took 5 and a half hours to get the whole thing out, fixed and back in. I definitely would not do this again. What a pain in the ass it was lol.
Btw it only took 20 mins to put it back up and secure everything (with the help of 2 friends. 3 of us in total)
