What did you do with your 4runner today?

Wired and test fitted my led bar. Now I just need to decide how I want to mount it

I REALLY need to get around to doing this...

grantprior13 did you go by a how to thread or a Haynes style
manual?

I had a buddy that has done it on his tundra, and is a mechanic.. so i just ordered a kit on amazon for around 150 and we spent the afternoon hooking it up... I wasn't about to try it solo.. definitely got lucky and just threw him a little cash, some lunch, and beers.. it was time consuming but if you are mechanically inclined you can probably do it..

I won't have an issue doing it. I'm just very very particular when working under the hood. I wanted to have a backup plan IF I hit a snag lol

this was actually on tuesday 5/10

Replaced my faulty transfer case motor (actuator) on my 67k 07 4Runner sr5 4wd. It wasn't hard to get it off, just gotta take out the driveshaft.
Once out it was a pain in the ass to align the rods and put the keepers (little ball looking things) in place. Then closing the casing wasn't fun at all. Had to re-seal it 2 times since it was binding on something. Anyways the truck runs like it did before the actuator went bad. All in all, took 5 and a half hours to get the whole thing out, fixed and back in. I definitely would not do this again. What a pain in the ass it was lol.
Btw it only took 20 mins to put it back up and secure everything (with the help of 2 friends. 3 of us in total)

Think one would be better off just plugging the leak and keeping an eye on the fluid level?

there was no leak, the unit (the black plastic piece with the blue 131 written on it) failed, no fluid ever came off my transfer case, nor my tranny. it just simply got stuck in low range and would not come off. i banged it, kicked it, hit it with a mallet, cursed at it, told it funny jokes and nothing.

after i replaced the unit, its finally out of low range, it does go into 4H and 2H, i am afraid to try 4L since i saw some heat marks on one of the synchros... fml.

No more saggy butt. Put in some icon 2inch rear coils yesterday... Rides way better than the daystar 2inch spacers that were back there

Rock Sliders

Got my sliders today! Now the work begins. Can't say enough about 4x Innovations. Ordered them last Sunday and they were delivered today. Can't wait to get them on and painted.

I installed new hood struts today! This may be insignificant, but for the first time in 5+ years I didn't have to use a stick to support my hood. Toyota wanted $150 + labor to replace. I said no thank you. Thanks to this forum for pointing me in the right direction! $47 Including shipping, 10 minutes and voila!

Fresh BMC and punch welds cut for some extra clearance for bigger tires! Also new rotors and pads on the front, I still have to finish the rears tomorrow.

Oh and I caught my truck on fire on accident:flamethrwoer2: and found out how good my fire extinguisher works. Works like it should thank god:lasercannon:
