Needle nose vise grips worked on the passenger side. No go on the battery side.
I undid the battery hardware and tried tilting it. I didn't want to lose all my presets on my radio, which are a pain to recreate, so I took the driver's light out an inch, and then could get the vise grips to bite.
What an operation.

Looks awesome!!! I have the same 4Runner but my paint and cladding could use some work. Any ideas on what I could do to bring the plastic back to life?

I never used the detailking stuff referenced above, but Aerospace 303 worked well on my '06 Tundra's cladding that was in awful shape when I bought it. I didn't wipe it on, I sprayed it on heavy and let it soak in, it required several sprayings.

I rubbed on the UCAs with 275s.
Love these threads! Today, changed wiper blades. In the past week, bought it (just joined) and have been going through it. This will replace my wife's sedan.
2008 X-SP SR5 2WD 32K miles.
It's in great shape, 1 owner, seems to have been garaged. Leather is good.
Nosed up to a friend's gen5:
Records show 30K dealer service last fall.
So far hit it hard with 303, removed lock beep module, removed X-SP door badges, and replaced the original serp belt.

ditch the loud Borla cat-back
Install hitch
coilovers and shocks
diff oil
engine oil
Any tips are appreciated, I've found lots of good info searching this forum.

Installed a Comet RS720 lip mount and tried to tune the CB with way high SWR readings.
Removed that.
Attempted to add the CBI Ditch CB Mount but didn't have help and couldn't keep the hood aligned to add the longer bolts. So, i'm at a stand still for a few days.
Hopefully the CBI mount is a better ground then a lip mount with limited grounding.
