What did you do with your 4runner today?

Installed TRD pro suspension from a 2015, installed Gibson stainless side dual tip exhaust, and had some 275/65/18 Duratracs put on.

Oh... and put my Whitson rack back on.

Can't remember the thread, but is it a direct bolt on? And why did you remove the rack in the first place....just wondering?

The suspension needed the same modification as if you were installing FJ 2010+ struts and shocks. I had done it before on my 2005 so I wasn't worried about it.

If you are talking about the exhaust, it was supposed to be direct bolt on, but it didn't fit right. I attribute it to being a new design. My mechanic buddy installed it for me initially. He said he had some trouble getting it to fit and tack welded a few spots so that it hopefully wouldn't move. After an hour it started rattling. So I took it to another person I know that owns an exhaust shop. He confirmed the pour fit and was impressed my mechanic buddy got it so close. He had to cut a piece of pipe out, extend hangers, make some new hangers, and spot weld the joints to ensure they wouldn't move. All that work sounds bad, but it only took him half an hour.

And why did you remove the rack in the first place....just wondering?

I had the WMW rack on my 2005. I sold the 05 without the rack. I waited to put it on my newer 4Runner so I could drive a bone-stock one for a few months.

Make the rear holes bigger on the back with a step drill bit when installing. Prior to installing, weekend before, use a grinder on the front struts eyes and metal bushings. The grinding took about an hour and a half and that was taking my time to take constant measurements so I wouldn't overdue it.

Driving the stock 4Runner was strange for about 2 weeks, since I was accustomed to hearing the Borla exhaust. The stock exhaust seemed like the truck wasn't even running. For awhile, I kind of grew to like the quietness, hence the delay in upgrading. It is good to have it back!

Got the stock bumper off... Half of the frame holes drilled... And now the bits too dull to continue.

Back to the store, then hopefully get the new bumper on tonight.

Got my O2 sensor replaced!

Thanks to [MENTION=66389]BlackWorksInc[/MENTION] I was able to fix a P0158 (Bank 2 Sensor 2) code by replacing Bank 2 sensor 1.

Apparently, as he states, when the AFR sensor fails it can make the ECM think it's the rear O2. Another W for Paul! Thanks again man!

Changed the oil and greased her. Easiest ever. Lucked out, all 6 Zerks were accessible without having to move it. Is it just me or does your truck feel like it drives better after simple maintenance.

I used an old sign post for my tool like this. Cut a chunk out of the back to fit a socket through and the bolt holes just so happened to be spaced correctly to line up with the crank pulley. Works great.

Recently brought home a 2007 Limited 4WD! Did a tune-up already and wanted to replace some of the old halogen bulbs for LEDs to give it a more modern/luxury feel. I wanted good quality LEDs and nothing too bright so decided to go with single Philips. They're still a little too bright for my taste, but a lot better than halogens.

These are 25% off at Pep Boys right now, making them cheaper than Amazon.

How was the fitment of those festoon bulbs? The ones I have don't fit well and I need some good replacements.

They were too long, but I made it work.

I didn't want to bend the tab or modify the housing either, but the side with the flexible tab has a slot in it which will grab onto the end of the festoon if you slide it up and down a few times. The end of the festoon is soft metal and will form a slight groove against the slot and eventually hold it securely. It sits at an angle but the diffuser does a good job distributing the light evenly.

Does your dome light flicker? I tried Phillips bulbs a while back and it flickered really bad
