What did you do with your 4runner today?

- New outter tie rods
- All Pro Rear lower Link skids
- FJTOYMAN Rear Lower shock mount skids with bolt protectors
- Front coil over lower shock bolt bushings replaced from radflo

Wish I would have added the skids before I beat the crap out of my stuff. Definitely recommend doing them right away.

I'm in the rust belt so I had to go with ball joint UCAs. These just seemed a bit better than the Camburgs, which were the only other real choice. The joints themselves seemed a bit beefier, and since they are bolt on, and the arms are actually cheaper, I went with the JBAs. They have a great rep with the Tacoma and Jeep guys.

I've been running the same UCAs for a few months now. I was able to get my caster out to about 4.0 using these, so they definitely get the job done (and look good too).

The best part about them is their use of the GM half ton ball joint. Super easy to replace whenever that day comes.

Yep, I live on long island and go on the beach with it all summer long.. cant get any more rust belt then that. regular cleaning and rust prevention with some good paint keeps it clean under neath but its never a battle you win.
Ive been checking out JBA's new balljoint system that can drop in these arms.. Looks pretty solid for when these eventually need changing.

Replaced the Fuel pressure pulse regulator today. Apparently the little diaphragm in these wear out and cause hesitation and a annoying clicking noise mostly when cold.

- Also put on a new diff breather

only things left is to change the oil, grease the driveline and get a coat of wax on it before the FJnortheasters run in 2 weeks!

since I did use my 4 Runner to accomplish the following.

Well my daughter is graduating from college on May 13th, and she has been freaking out for the last 6 to 9 months because she doesn't have a car,
she really hasn't needed one for the last 4 years since she lives in the downtown area and the college campus is also downtown so she has been able to
easily walk to all of her classes, but after graduation she will be moving out of the city and will indeed need a car,
she texted me about 3 weeks ago freaking out again and about on the edge of tears saying "I don't know what I'm going to do,
I need a car very soon and I don't know how to even go about getting one, can you help me and tell me how to start getting financing for being able to
buy one, but I'm worried that I won't be able to afford the payments!!! :wow: ".
I know my daughter very well and I'm sure she had a tear or two rolling down her cheeks :cry2: by the time she finished typing the text, so I told her
that I have been looking for months for a deceit car that would be affordable for her to be able to make the payments and I would help her getting it financed,
I also told her if I haven't found one by the time I come up for her graduation that we would go car shopping and find one local to where she lives,
what I didn't tell her was that I was going to buy her a good used car for her graduation present :naughty: !!

As I mentioned I had been looking for quite sometime now, mostly for a Toyota Camry, or Avalon but even though I saw many they were all either asking
too much or they had way to many miles for what I was looking for, last weekend I saw an ad on my local Craig's List for a 2007 Corolla that was in the
ballpark of what I could afford, the seller was asking as usual more than what it was worth so I called him and made him an offer, he said he would think
about it and call me back, so 4 days later after I though he wouldn't accept the offer he did call me back saying he would take it, so I take off work around
noon to go to see the car and if it was as depicted in his ad I had the cash ready to purchase it, got there and the car is all he said it was so now my daughter
has a car, BUT, me being the way I am she will have to wait until the day of her graduation to get it, she doesn't know I have found her a car, much less she
will not have to pay for a car and it will make her cry a lot of HAPPY tears right after she graduates!!!

Now as I mentioned I was trying to find her a car with some bells and whistles that why I was hoping for a Camry or Avalon,
BUT this Corolla while yes it's a base model but it has power windows, locks, cruise control and alloy wheels, what made me jump very fast to snap it up is,
as mentioned it's a 2007 BUT it only has 6652 miles on it, YES that right a 10 year old brand new car with 6652 MILES!!!! arty: :dancin: :bluejump:

I got it for "Book Value" and I ran the Vin to make sure all was on the up and up, it smells like a new car, it looks like a new car, it drive likes a new car,
the car was owned by the seller's father, he maintained it like it was a Ferrari, he had the oil changed every 6 months and it never had more than 400 to 500 miles
between oil changes, all maintenance was done by the dealer he bought it from and I have all the documentation for all the work ever done, it will last her for at
least 10 years while she establishes her career then she can afford something with the bells and whistles.

This is so sweet!! It is also 100% something my dad would do for me. That kind of father daughter bond is so special and not everyone is lucky enough to have it. Reading this made me miss my dad even more, we are also very close and I haven't seen him in a long time.

Did it eliminate the ticking? I'm hesitant to replace mine because some report the noise returning after a few days.

uhm, honestly I dont think my ticking was too bad to begin with but it definely made it a little quieter a little smoother and a bit more responsive I think..


if your going to do this, becareful not to lose the washer on top and bottom of the one you take out, very tiny pieces

Did an oil change today, no biggee. BUT . . .

I bought those rear recovery points in the group buy. I was checking out how they will mount up when I noticed that the chinga that holds my spare tire in place had come loose and my spare was about to fall off!! :wow: :wow:

Another thing to check next time you're under your 4Runner.

Long story short:

1) Big chunk of ice/snow come crashing on my hood.
2) Cost of new hood = cost of sport hood (~+$120).
3) Got a new Sport hood.

not sure how many converted their hood to scooped hoods.

Such a relief isn't it, finally replaced mine a few weeks ago. I had some bad seizing going on...

Got one side of the Metaltech kit installed but I'm getting some nasty rubbing on the gas tank with the coil. The axle is much much lower than where it will be with the tires on but I'm afraid I'll be rubbing here when I flex out. Anyone have this problem?
