Yes, there is a small gap but Im pretty sure that is typical of projectors as the OEMs I took off have the same gap between the shroud and the lens. I bet if the wire was moved and it was painted a darker color behind the shroud youd have to squint to see the gap. It looks noticeable in the pic bc it seems like its a lighter color in there. Maybe its just the light messing with me though :shrug:

Nice. Where did you pick those lights up at?Just bought, before any upgrades.
Just recently bought my first T4R and couldnt wait to start upgrading it. Bought a set of immaculate 2017 T4R Limited 20" Wheels on Craigslist for 500$ and wrapped them in a set of Michelin 255/55r20 which set me back about 850$ but I love how they look on the 4th gen. Front is pretty tight but surprisingly there is no rubbing at all.

The headlight assemblies were cloudy and looked horrible. While I couldve went the cheap route and buffed them out, I decided since I was already spending way too much money, that I should go ahead and buy aftermarket headlight assemblies and new HIDs for the highs, lows, and fogs. After some research on here I went with some blackened halo projectors I saw on ebay and went to Theretrofitsource.com and ordered the Morimoto Elite 6500k kits.

Hopefully this post isnt too long and boring for you guys. Next time I do an upgrade Ill try to have more pics and write up a detailed thread on it. Most of this was dont after work and I barely got the lights finished before it got too dark to work. Honestly this is my first Toyota and even though Ive only had it for a couple weeks Im in love with it and completely addicted now :thumb3:

If you are referring to the HIDs in the headlight assemblies I went here https://www.theretrofitsource.com/hid-systems/universal-kits.html and just picked up a H11B system for the low beams, a 9005 system for the high beams, and a 9006 system for the fogs. The lights are 6500k temp, I want those so I didnt blind oncoming traffic with the 4500k. Its around 150$ per system before shipping. I live about 1.5 hours above ATL so shipping wasnt that bad for me. Im pretty sure that most of the T4R are going to use the H11b as opposed to the H11a but dont quote me on that. Make sure or youll have a shadow in the middle of your light :crybaby: If you have questions about what you need and cant find it here just call them, they are pretty helpful and I was only on hold for like 5 min before I got someone.
I picked them up on EBay. There were plenty of sellers with aftermarket halos but the majority of them had awful business review outside of EBay. I research thoroughly before I buy from Ebay bc I dont trust their reviews on the sellers. Ill post the listing on EBay that I bought from but currently they are sold out of those particular assemblies but the seller had good reviews outside of EBay so I went with them and I love the light itself. Fit just like OEM, not a problem with them at all. Now, I cant really speak for the durability as Ive only had them for about 2 days. If they can go a few months without signs of clouding or spider cracking Ill say they are perfect for the price. Here in a few months if I can remember, Ill do an update on them to show if they are durable or not.

Those Fumoto valves are really handy. I recently put one on too after dropping the bolt in the drain pain too many times. :frusty:

The rear is very easy to install, no more than 4 hours total. The front can be a bit of a trick depending on how much rust you've got -- but there are a few threads with information on how to do it quickly. I struggled a lot with one side, but the other side took a little over 4-5 hours with hand tools. Having an extra helping hand is a major plus (almost necessary).
The kit is $125 on most places. I believe eBay has a 20 off 100 coupon at the moment so you could find an eBay store to get one for around 105.

First major work on the new rig (only had it 2 weeks). Put Bilstein 5100s all the way around (was on X-REAS) and new CV axles on driver and passenger sides. Took much longer than I expected and I still have to go back to take the X-REAS lines out but it looks and rides like a completely new vehicle

Finally got around to doing the Map light mod and LED interior conversion.
Map lights I tapped into the ribbon wire in the A-Pillar with a scotchlok.... took my about 2 hours all together because at first I was gonna snake into the center dome light.... I spent at least an hour trying to get it back there to realize it was another ribbon wire and said screw it, I'm going to the A-Pillar. Also used an LED kit off amazon for $12, cant beat the deal! If they go out soon maybe I'll drop money on V-leds
Also changed out the cabin air-filter..... wow it was dirty. tip: if you like to use an air freshener in your car, spray the oils directly on to the filter. Works 10x better.

took me 2 hours for install. because i had help and a lift. i only leveled the front. rear is stock height.
the kit cost like $90... most difficult part was trimming down the 3 pointy stock bolts on the top hat.

Spent the entire weekend ripping out my speakers, sub enclosure, amp, head unit, led bars, headlight retrofits, etc and getting her all back to stock. Taking her this afternoon to trade her in on a 2017 SR5 Premium. Going to miss the old gal, we've been through a lot in almost 6 years :moping:
