How much Lift are you running? I am accumulating my suspension parts and am planning on about 2.5” front and 2” rear. Gonna get the superbumps just curious if I should get the bumpstop spacer as well

2.5" lift and 1" body lift. The rear suspension is set up with Long Travel springs and custom length shocks, so no, you won't need bump stop extensions for a standard 2" lifted rear set up. I think I have some more uptravel, so I might even take those extensions off.

Maintenance history is everything on this one. Ideally I would have liked a 06-09, but my main goal was white V8 AWD and at or under 150-160k, this ticked the right boxes and fit the bill for what I was looking for.
When I filtered those results on the major auto search tools, about 8-10 came up that matched those specs nation wide. After contacting out of state dealers, many of them wouldn't send me pictures of the frame (which immediately left me suspect) and the ones that did send a picture mostly weren't in good shape or clearly had been spray painted black (over rust) and "looked" good but you could tell weren't.
I know I could have saved a few grand by accepting an SR5 in gray/black with cloth interior etc, but at the end of the day, I got what I wanted and am comfortable with the price so that's what counts.
There is also high variability in price across the US. The east coast and specifically north east US, these things are being listed for ridiculous prices.

Oh yeah! Price is crazy all over the board depending on where in the US you are, Midwest is going into the winter so it’s definitely not the best time to buy as anything 4WD is up in value for winter duty.

Unfortunately not driving mine because the ecu needs replacing, currently waiting on the dealer I bought it from to source another ecu for me.
So just doing little bits, today it was getting some keys and keyfobs. Picked these up from eBay 2 Replacement For 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 Toyota 4Runner Key + Fob 39294334621 | eBay
A local store cut the keys for free and I programmed them myself with information from the forum.

^ This. Used car dealers can't keep em on lots here so they jack up the prices...and people pay them.
I got my '04 Sport (no frame rust) with 159k miles for $10k out the door 2.5 years ago and it was a good price. And its value (according to NADA) has dropped $500 in 20k miles and 2.5 years...

Exactly this. This one just has some scaley rust on the bottom of the frame rails, nothing coming up the sides yet. It'll get remedied in the spring and give me a good excuse to learn what the underside of this car looks like.
Looks like price wise ours were pretty close to the same except yours is a Sport V6 and mine is Limited V8. Also, love the C30, good to see other Volvo/4Runner Owners!

Got my 1.25” Spidertrax Wheel Spacers and 285/70/17 Falken at3w installed today to go with the 2.5/1.5 Daystar w/ 5th gen stock suspension

Had the transfer case and differential oil changed at my local dealer. I also replaced light bulbs for reverse and rear tag.

To PrimeTime4370 & AuSeeker, I appreciate the time you guys took in responding to my question pertaining to the compass. I'll have to see what I can figure out fuse-wise this weekend when I have a chance.
UPDATE: I noticed that both of my 12V power outlets were not working. Having had this before (with just the forward outlet), I finally checked fuses only to find one was missing! Turns out that’s all it took! One little fuse and I’ve got a working mirror and two working power outlets. Good to know sometimes things are an easy fix! Thanks all!

Spark plugs, air filter, throttle body and MAF sensor clean, coolant drain/refill, differentials and transfer case drain/refill, trans filter and flush, new windshield, new tires, greased driveshafts. Daughter moving to Colorado ��.
The wheel shop finally got the powder coat to match.
Installed the tiregate without any issue. Bout it 3 months ago off craigslist and never had a chance to test it.
Also using this lock pin I got from Autozone.
Test fitting the wheel to line up all the right lug holes.
It does stick out more than I prefer but it’s okay saved a lot vs getting a swing bumper. Budget doesn’t allow it atm. The hinge mech does wobble some so I need to see if that’s normal but so far I’m satisfied.

PCK, Dobinsons and a Rack...
I replaced my Toytec Superflex HD lift coils with something that would stand the weight of the fridge and the still to come drawer system. Also adding a roof rack.
The Dobinsons 701 is a much taller spring and the coils are a larger diameter.
Also while I was at it, I installed an EIM Keith PCK. This welds on to the factory panhard bar mount and compensates for the lift in the rear. I noticed a bit less body roll but as I did the bracket at the same time as the coils, it was hard to tell which made the biggest impact.
All in all I really like the setup and considering that the rear is chocked full of gear, an 85qt fridge of food, a pair of full jerry cans and a full steel rear bumper... it isnt squatting! :cheers:
The extruded aluminum showed up for my roof rack and the building and test fitting commenced!

Mine stuck out a bit too. So I filledthe space with Jerry can carriers. :biggrin:
My hinge wobbled too when I first got my carrier. It was no big deal to just tighten the bolt up and it hasn't been a problem since.

The rusty brake lines on my 4Runner turned out to be a bit bigger job than expected. Replacing a couple of rubber lines plus the two long lines that go over the gas tank from front to back.
But the good news is my frame got a clean bill of health. Spent some time with it up on the lift with my mechanic and it’s in great shape overall. I want to wire brush and spot treat a few spots and do something about my ugly/rusty skid plates but otherwise everything is very solid.
Looks like will be going ahead with the suspension swap and keeping it a bit longer. Sure will be cheaper than a new vehicle. [emoji383]
