What did you do with your 4runner today?

Well Xreas started showing its age so I picked up 2015 Tacoma TRD springs and 4600 bilstiens. Then ordered some new top hats and 5100s for the rear with a 1.5" Daystar spacer. Since I was gonna swap out the suspension might as well get some new rims so I ordered a set of lvl 8 MK6 17x8 -10 and swapped over my 265/70s. Oh and I wrapped the silver section of the bumper and purposely left just a little visible, something different.

I replaced all of the HVAC bulbs with a bulb kit from eBay, fixed a hatch rattle that was driving me nuts, and drilled out a seized skid plate bolt. Checking things off the list!

I need to deal with my broken skid plate bolts this spring and am dreading it. Any advice? Did you just drill out the old one and retap? Or were you able to remove it?

Downloaded the plans for fender liners and got some rubber floor mats from goodwill for a few bucks to use.
They fit decent and only need slight adjustment on one of the liners. I should have done this prior to winter salt.

I need to deal with my broken skid plate bolts this spring and am dreading it. Any advice? Did you just drill out the old one and retap? Or were you able to remove it?

When I installed my RCI skids not too long ago, I discovered that one of the original bolts had been sheared off in the hole, when I went to install it, but didn’t know because the truck didn’t have the original skid when I bought it. I center punched it so the drill wouldn’t walk, then hit it with a center drill, then 1/8”, then progressed up to the correct tap drill size (can’t remember what size the bolt was... maybe m12?). Then re-tapped the hole, as well as chasing the threads on all the other holes while I was at it. I applied anti-seize compound to the new hardware to hopefully prevent future problems.

Still have to re aim the lights for hid and the bulbs are only temporary, I just received all my parts for a full D2s 4.0 retrofit with profile hi lens led in my high beam.. that’ll be coming around mid May most likely when I’m out of school for summer

Got my parts for my retrofit in the mail the other day
Profile Hi lens led projector to go in the high beams
Already own (not pictured) D2S 4.0 projectors for low beam
Already installed (not pictured) xenon depot hid kit
I have the amp to D2s straight connectors and Morimoto 5k D2s bulbs for the projectors
I will be using those metal brackets to mount the projector
And I picked up 2 screw in breather vents and 4 goretex breather vents just Incase I decide to buy a separate aftermarket housing to do the retrofit in rather than the one housing since my lenses are pretty yellowed around the edges

Based on posts on the forum I decided to removed the hydrocarbon filter. Also decided to clean the throttle body, first time ever doing this on a car (pics on the forum were very helpful). I was shocked at how much build up was on mine, also so much build up in the intake. I sprayed a can of cleaner into the intake while the engine was running and then let it sit for an hour before taking it for a drive. Got a huge puff of white smoke as I started to drive off and then it died away. I plan to take it apart again tomorrow to see if it cleaned up ok, if not I will spray another can inside.

This 4runner was neglected before I bought it and I foolishly didn't get a mechanic to look at it before I paid the dealer. I can only hope that it sorts itself out eventually as I clear each item. Still getting codes for parts I have replaced.

So much more useful than the rectangular storage area with the door on it. We can now charge two phones and still power another device without a big multi-port charger sticking out! I pulled the silver metal part out of the ash tray cubby and store cords in it.

Yep, it is one of my favorite mods so far! I wasn’t sure if I’d like the tiny compartment because I used to store property keys and stuff in the other one, but I have to say that the overall looks and functionality trumps that many times over! I also removed that stupid metal cigarette holder since I don’t smoke, nor will ANYONE ever in my vehicles! I still use that little compartment to store the master keys I use the most, and moved the rest to one of the divided areas in my console (have the Vehicle OCD organizers in there), so it all worked out perfectly. I also bought a USB adapter for that spot, but I wish it had the voltage meter as that is a very useful thing to know if your charging system is doing its thing. I chose mine because it was the lowest profile one I could find, and doesn’t look like an adapter. I’m happy with its aesthetics and functionality, but that display is great.

I agree, it's so subtle, I love it. Please excuse the HVAC display, this is getting "fixed" this week.

So I'm sure many of us have the factory leather seats and are torn. Repair kits are worthless as far as I'm concerned, so I went online and found only the drivers seat bottom. I had a local leather installer ( Security Check Required ) put it on. He was done in 20 minutes. Anyway, if anyone is in the South East Pennsylvania area, check him out, reasonable price and excellent work! Guy's name is Bob, company is called "Absolute Perfection Repair Service". He installs leather seats to new cars via dealers and also installs remote starters. Nice guy, I totally recommend him!

Incredible how fast he took the seat cover off. He never took the seat out of the car.
