What did you do with your 4runner today?

8/16/19 - DFW trip
I went up to DFW to pick up some stuff off Facebook marketplace. I stopped by this furniture place on the west side of Fort Worth to get some mall crawling style pics. It's been on my list of places to go to around the state. Good time as any, only downside is the rig was a bit dirty from the 4 hour trip up.
Usually for these types of trips I would take the Tesla, but I ended up finding some wheels last minute for the RX7. I had the 4Runner packed pretty good with aquarium stuff and the wheels. Felt like I was back in college moving back from Austin.
It's nice to use the 4Runner for what it is once in a while. Most of the time, its just sitting in the driveway baking under the sun waiting for me to take it somewhere. 85% of the time, its used for ferrying the dogs somewhere.

Had to take a trip yesterday of about 80 miles each way. Happily driving along at 70mph and all was good, got to the first town and decided to stop and grab a drink. Started to smell something weird and was horrified to see the temp needle at high. Parked up and let the car cool down, checked coolant level all was good. Carried on with our journey and as long as the car was moving it was okay but creeped high at lights. Got back home and changed the thermostat, drove around town and all good.
Had to do the same drive today, again all good on the motorway but in towns it overheated. Went to a mechanic out of town and he said it needed burping and all would be good, he burped it with no charge and we started to head home. Again motorway speeds it's perfect but overheating at stops.
Went straight to my own mechanic and he said considering I replaced the thermostat he believed it was the radiator. So I gave him the go ahead to replace it, he gave me a call a few hours later and said there was bad coolant flow and my radiator was all blocked up, no blockages elsewhere. So a new radiator was fitted cost was $390, no idea if that's cheap or expensive but relieved it's not the head gasket.

Yeah, Texas is huge, it takes like 10 hours just to get to the western border from where I am. The other 10 hours gets you to California...:biggrin2:

I was also messing around this morning mocking up the GT-Ps to my IS300 so I went ahead and laid all of my extras out.
Joined the 200k Club. This 17 year old girl is still running great!
Love seeing people running the Falken Wildpeak instead of the BFGoodrich. Keep it up. Looks amazing.
Installed Bilstein 5100 with 5th gen front springs on the highest setting and old man EMU 2895 in the rear. Love the ride quality. Much better then the spacer lift.

Thanks. I had BFG KOs before the Falkens. I like these way more!

Installed my [MENTION=28464]eimkeith[/MENTION] PCK, nice and level back there now. Also installed Icon 2.5 w remote resis and adjusters in the back. Much better ride than my 5100’s.

That is correct. 285-70-R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3. Slight rubbing on full lock on reverse.
I would love to hear your input. what didn't you like about the BFG KOs. I was about to get the BFG KO2 but the tire shop was having a sale so i went with the falkens.
But why are the Falkens better then the BFG? Just curious to hear your input.
