What did you do with your 4runner today?

A quick wash turned into a 2 hour detailing session.Lol

More electrical...

Pulled some more wiring diagrams to trace why my Gentex Rear view mirror wasn't working and re-spliced the heated seats to be a little safer.

Got my Coastal Offroad rear bumper installed with a set of some Stealth Custom Series wheels.

How were the instructions on this bumper? Not necessarily the welding itself, but I guess more so the assembly. I'm considering getting this since I can weld and I don't know if I can stomach the pre-built price.

Are you able to use to back up camera in between the swing outs? If you have one. With my fridge on the driver's side and a tire on the passenger I'd have a useless rear window lol.

And how wide will the fuel carrier swing out? My cooking drawer setup pulls out of the passenger side of the hatch so I'm standing back there quite a bit on the driver's side. Thanks!

Noticed a howling noise and odd handling developing 2 weeks after I got my shocks put in. Turns out the front passenger bearing was completely gone and the front drivers side was about 50% gone. So, I replaced both front hub assemblies with OE parts, rotated the tires and did a full synthetic Mobil One oil change.

She's riding a hell of a lot better and the sound is gone. All that money was going to go towards a new set of wheels but I'll have to put that off for a bit, oh well!

New front calipers (#8, #9...), replaced rotors with some resurfaced ones I had in the garage, new front pads.

When I switched to 5th gen brakes, I bought Centric calipers from RA.
The right side one lasted 18,000 before it seized, so I had replaced it with a coated Carquest Wearever caliper from Advance Auto (19-6278).

The left side Centric was pretty much all seized up (this prompted the brake work), 40,000 on the caliper. Meanwhile 22,000 on the Wearever, coating held up, still functioned fine, but the piston seals were pretty much done, two pistons were starting to get sticky. I opted to replace as the Wearever calipers do come warrantied.

Don't buy Centric, no warranty, seems these calipers are destined to fail, so why bother getting one without...

Hopefully these next two last me a while :noidea:

Picked up a new greasegun, and HD moly lube. After a good propshaft lube some vibe is smoothed.

After 25 years my old gun gave it up. New is nice even is it's chinesium.

I'm that single with no kids guy, but love being the fun Uncle Ryan, so now my 4 year old nephew can go on adventures with me! Definitely something I never thought I'd have in my vehicle, but glad I found one that even matches my interior LOL! Anyone know why my pics sometimes turn out sideways like this?

Replaced my steering shaft on the weekend. A pain to get the lower part off the rack but now no intermittent hard steering and the looseness is gone too. That u-joint was toast.

So a buddy and I installed 2016 Tacoma TRD suspension in the front of my 2006 2wd V6 today, finally! My 4Runner has almost 170k miles so I am pretty sure the stock stuff was sagging a bit, but with that being said I got right about 3.25" of lift from where it was, which gives it just a slight front rake. I have the rear Bilsteins from the Tacoma also, so I'm thinking some springs to lift it about 1" in rear would be perfect. Any suggestions? I'm thinking Bilstein B12's or Eibachs.

Here is a pic of the 4Runner originally, and now (the rake seems a bit exaggerated due to the slope of the parking spot), and now next to a neighbor's 3rd gen Tacoma TRD. Rubs a little at full-lock, and you can see some slight positive camber, so definitely needs an alignment soon, but it drives straight and smooth down the road.

Long day.. I installed a Fumoto valve, changed the oil, installed my RCI steel skid plate, pulled off my sidesteps, replaced my leaking axle seals, extended my rear diff breather to the gas door area (stock was plugged as well), hardwired my Valentine1, pulled the second filter off the airbox, and finally installed Slyfox's SAP bypass kit (super easy, well put together), and finally dropped the spare, aired it up and lubed the pulley for it
