What did you do with your 4runner today?

noob question here....

recently dumped my old 200k suspension for bilstein 5100s and OME 2883 in front and t12 springs in the back. the original wheels were in bad shape and I got a good deal on some new (to me) OEM ones. swapping out the back tires went great except for breaking one of the lug nut studs off (yay, shop that installed the lift torqued the wheels down to, I don't know, 300lbs). the front wheels, however—and maybe you guys have more experience with this than me—went to full extension/droop once I jacked up the front and had the wheel off. I couldn't get the new wheels on without a second jack under the LCA. my question is, how do you guys deal with this out in the field? Do you guys carry two jacks for this sort of thing?

Working on some mud flap hangers.

2004 Limited 4x4

Just got this a couple weeks ago and have been bringing it back to life. Started off as a pig and now starting to look like something.

Replaced wheels from a set of a lexus and dipped them. Also dipped the from grille, bull bar, side mirrors. Deleted the running boards and saved the wiring for some leds I plan on installing once they arrive. Replaced all interior bulbs with leds, swapped out stereo with a jensen DVD player touch screen. Replaced Rotors and brakes all around and wheel alignment. Installed coverlip on dash to hide cracks, new phone mount, steering wheel cover and floor mats. Fixed loose fender flares, shampooed interior, and fixed burnt bulbs in temperature control unit.

The OEM bottle jack under a front lower control arm works in the garage, on the side of the road, or on the trail (assuming you have a solid base). My floor jack barely lifts the 4R enough to remove/replace tires, I always just default to the bottle jack.

I have a 2x2 and a board that I put under the bottle jack. Tall enough for a 3" lift.

Bit the bullet and bought a new rear crossmember/endcaps to replace mine that's rusting out. Everything ended up being $370 shipped from McGeorge Toyota, so not toooo bad. Definitely cheaper than the steel rear bumper replacement I'd been considering.

Fingers crossed the metal that the endcaps attach to is still solid. May have to bring some spare steel along in case more patching is required :'(

Finally finished and installed the grill. Such a long project....YouTube made it seem easy.. but I love the new look.

Since buying my ‘07 4runner in August, I have been updating the deferred maintenance, and there was a lot. This week I am working on replacing the rear calipers, adding SS brake lines, and new rotors. I found the right rear parking brake assembly was completely missing, the left side still there. These parking brakes are a pain to install. The PO probably just gave up. Im not going to replace it.

While the wheels are off I removed the Panhard bar, sanded off the rust and peeling paint and repainted it black and then installed polyurethane bushings. The rear end felt squishy while driving. This should firm up the side to side swaying.

They sure are but doable with patience. Not something I want to touch again anytime soon. What was left of mine looked original and in bad shape.

New battery fixed my weird dash glitch blink.
I put my ear next to my door speakers and decided to order new ones. Crutchfield sends the connectors and adapters free with speakers, and I got basic speakers so good deal.

All the wires and previous adapters were half broken and barely tight. The speakers were better than the ones I purchased but the backs were shot from being loose and rubbing on things.

New wires and 2 new rear speakers and now I have decent audio and don't need my small 8" sub/amp combo behind my seat anymore. I should have done this when I bought the car, as the audio was always super awful.

got my 4xInnovations sliders in! getting a date set at a buddy's shop to get them installed. now to grind off the last of the XREAS crap...
