I used the approach by [MENTION=112299]Formidable[/MENTION] on his 3rd post on this thread. TRD Pro Shift Knob Installed
It took me a couple hours and was a pain to get it just right by making a lot of adjustments, but probably only take someone else 15 minutes haha. I don’t have the best of luck.
You only get 2-3 full turns before the shifter is seated too deep and won’t go into the lower gears. I used blue locktight as well. The nuts are an m8 x 1.25 pitch.

Do you mind sharing info and maybe some pics of your new lights? It looks bright.
Just hit 160k in the 08 V8 4WD! Also just put in the newly designed h11 led headlight by Sealight.. They are fantastic.

These are the ones I installed on my 2008 v6. No problem with fitting them in with the fans and the cutoff is maintained perfectly. This design has the slim led which I think gives it the better cutoff. You’ll notice a lot of LED bulbs have a thick piece on either side of the LED chip, I think that degrades the light spread.

I recently installed a hitch mount for my 2008 v6 4Runner that did not come with one from the factory.
The way I park in the garage puts the hitch in the walkway where me and my wife walk to get into our cars. To save our shins I needed something that mounted as close to the bumper as possible. The OEM does this but sourcing one was difficult for a good price and condition. Other companies make one that bolts onto the frame but those stick out to far and I don’t really need that strong of a hitch, anyway.
I saw a thread where someone mentioned metal tech 4x4 makes a hitch for our cars but couldn’t find anyone who had installed it. The hitch isn’t too expensive and mounts to the bumper bar the same way the OEM V6 hitch does. After some trimming of the bumper the hitch mounts right up no problem. The m12 bolts come with the hitch, I torqued these to 60 ft pounds per the user manual.
I have yet to tow anything yet but love the look and how it isn’t a shin hazard.

Installed rear DuroBumps and 1.5" TrailGear Spacers today. Sure helps to have the right tools... A new 12mm bolt extraction socket made quick work of the old, soft, rounded bump bolts. The new right angle drill and left-handed bits made quick work of one that snapped in half, still leaving sufficient threads in the OEM welded nut to use. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while.
Even got to break in a new creeper to satisfyingly rip out the loose, rattling muffler heat shield.
On to the snapped off front bump stop tomorrow.

They work excellent, have an integrated fan. The cut off is really really good and the lights really are pure white, I wouldn't say they have a blue tint. Here is a picture of the cutoff

Picked up an FJ Transfer Case from an automatic FJ. My electronic tcase crapped out and I'd rather have manual shifting.
I have a V6, and most threads for this swap talk about swapping it into a V8, so I'm hoping to create a write-up for this swap as I do it. So far, gonna need a driveshaft spacer for the rear and possibly shorten the front driveshaft.

Those look great. I may need to try them. I recently found out the Auxbeam F-T1 9005 low beams I run were recalled due to NHTSA claiming LED bulbs are not DOT approved. Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment | NHTSA

Took a couple of exciting deliveries today.
Do I smell tacoma front end swap?
Since my hobbies tend to take on the "runaway freight train with no hopes of stopping" approach unfortunately yes... lol.
Luckily I was able to find a local member that is quite literally buying every single peice from my current swap, down to the modified factory bumper and fog lights so it made it quite easy to take thr plunge... currently I'm looking at roughly 600 bucks total out of pocket after I'm done, but that also includes both front and rear coastal offraod bumpers.
I'm in the process of starting a new build thread so I can actually concentrate all the pictures into a single place.

Battery has been giving me grief in the cold weather the last couple of months, and after getting a new Denso alternator a week or two ago, battery died again over this weekend. There was no installation date on it from the previous owner, and i figured it's at least 3 years old so might as well just replace it. Upgraded to a bigger group 27F Duracell with 840cca and so far so good. Purchased at Sam's club.
