What did you do with your 4runner today?

The ex-wife holdin' the target.
:lmao:

(Don't judge... First time I've physically been able to shoot in two years. My spine couldn't handle recoil from anything more than a .22. Just glad to be able to exercise my rights before they're gone.)
Looks like the one lower left of the outer ring is in femoral artery territory, still lethal. Nice looking piece!

With holes that big, it will only take one hit.

Loved my colt 45 commander, but hated buying the ammo for it. Sold it years ago.

Tested out the new MTs. I can say for sure they are better than my all-terrains i had before.

How are they on the pavement? Those are the new coopers right?

Yup the new Cooper Evolutions. They are pretty good on pavement. Not very loud at all. I'm coming from C rated Falken Wildpeaks. They are louder than those but nothing crazy .Im usually listing to music so it doesn't really matter.
Also Ive been up to 90ish mph and they handled fine. Balanced fine as well. No shakes.

This is also my first time running an MT and E-rated. I feel like they handle rough roads a little better. Maybe its because it just a larger tire and soaks impacts better, but I like it.
For the price I think they are really good. Time will tell how good or bad they wear.

I removed, lightly sanded (to remove corrosion) and put synthetic brake pin grease on the front caliper pad pins washed front wheels, scraped some rust and painted some spots on frame. Inspect parking brakes next.

I took my ‘07 Ltd V8 for a Woolwax treatment today. I was very happy that I found no structural frame rust when I bought this 4Runner last month, just some rust at the welds. The cradle under the radiator and the rear bumper were pretty flaky but cleaned up enough to give me confidence they will last with this treatment applied.
I compared the frame’s condition to my buddy’s 2012 Tacoma and they were equal...even though his truck is 5 years newer with 100k less miles. And I am very happy with this product. Woolwax seems to be the answer to prolonging the life of my beloved ‘07. BTW, they had to cut the spare tire cable to remove it to spray that area. I tried to lower the spare yesterday but she was froze up solid. I bent the chintzy lowering tool and the lowering crank mechanism just wouldn’t budge. I’m just going to leave the spare in the garage. I have roadside assistance with my car insurance and will definitely use it should I be unfortunate enough to get a flat.

haven't done it yet but I'm looking to replace this hose in the picture... I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I believe it's coolant bypass hose... guessing I should get OEM clamps as well? thanks in advance if anyone can confirm.

Crank oil seal

Changed yesterday. A first for me.
Not difficult, No need to remove radiator, just fan and shroud.
Used pulley holder (black piece made for toyota. Amazon) lock with ratchet and pipe extension to the garage floor and breaker bar + pipe extension to crank bolt.
Followed with pulley extractor ( the one you screw to pulley, no legs).
No seal installer or Lg socket, so greased seal spring and gently tapped till flush. OEM.
Good cleaning and inspection of related surrounding parts. Fan and clutch now looking like new.
First fue miles no oil leak so far.
3 hours. Less than a 100$ on tools (holder &extractor) and appropriate care to all parts bolts torque etc. Worth it!
Thanks T4R and Ytube.

Cannot help you with hose sorry, but I think you need new serpentine belt:zoom:

Yes, it was a new belt. Just wondering how it could wear so quickly. I've put less than 3k miles on it since I put the belt on.

I was thinking the same about the belt needing replacing when I first looked at your photo and then I noticed it still had the writing on the belt so I though it could be relatively new...but it shouldn't be that rough looking on the smooth side, check all the smooth pulleys to see how rough they are, they should be very smooth, if they're rough that's what has caused the wear on the belt and you need to replaced the pulley/s along with the belt, the smooth side of the belt should show very little wear even with higher moderate miles on it.

If the pulleys are smooth as they should be, I don't know how you could of but maybe you routed the belt incorrectly and the smooth side is riding on some of the grooved pulleys

As AuSeeker said must be related to the pulleys. But the reason I changed the crankshaft oil seal is because I bought from amazon an OEM serpentine belt that was fake Toyota. Shredded to pieces after 1000 miles, wrap several very tight strips between the crank pulley and the engine and the oil drip started.
