What did you do with your 4runner today?

Well my partner and I might have the omicrons from someone at her work (even though I have my first shot and she’s got both of hers) I basically slept all day yesterday and today was nothing but headache, hot flashes and feeling like I was going to vomit- I couldn’t think really took a sick day and spent it in my front driveway changing my front and rear diff oil. The fresh air helped a ton I think. I put two quarts of valvoline 75w-140 full synthetic and 1.2ish quarts of 75w-90 full synthetic in the rear axle. (Its all I had) Can’t believe how much it holds vs the GM axles I’m used to. Then I went to autozone and got some more to do the front and center diffs.
In the front I used 1.5ish quarts of 75w-140 full synthetic, and then I ran out of daylight. Tomorrow I’ll use the 75w-90 they had in the center diff. The valvoline bagged gear oil is AWESOME. no fumbling around with the bottle pump and tubing, just bend and contort the bag on the fill port. Fantastic idea.

Thought I had a turn signal out due to hyperflash, then saw a suggestion on the forum to be sure the bulb was seated. It had worked a little loose and re-installing it solved the problem. In the process, I rediscovered that Toyota thoughtfully provided bulb specifications near the housings. This example covers the headlights:

Fits like a glove with factory crossbars, I've run one for years.
Well I was back at it again tonight. Got the center diff changed and filled with 75w-90 full synthetic. Like I said yesterday, the valvoline bagged gear oil is the best thing ever. No pump needed.
I had enough left over so I was able to switch the front diff to 75w-90 as well. Will see how this full synthetic gear oil does and if its noticeable. Might be slightly smoother. I’m not sure if what was in there was full synthetic or not but whatever it was had been in there for some time.

I love the gear oil packets!!! Not just for my 4Runner but also for the transaxle in my Scion. Adding gear oil to that is a beeyatch.
Yeah I still can't believe how easy they make it. My oil filter arrived today so now I can change the oil whenever I get to it. Was gonna do it today but too sleepy.

Got this yesterday but had a chance to road test this cup holder insert today on a short drive to and from the park and ride.
Also got to un-box my weld together bumper kit from True North Fabrications that was on my porch when I got home today.

What bumper did you get? I’m trying to figure out what I want to do for a front bumper.
The Bilstein B12 heavy load springs I ordered got delivered from Rockauto, now I just need to decide if I’m going to order some Amazon spring compressors or have someone put them in for me.
They also came with a neat sticker!
I also ordered replacement 5100 rear shocks to go with the new springs.

Well the shocks I ordered (Bilstein 5100 3313146) from Realtruck saying they’re on national back order and Bilstein doesn’t know when they’ll be back in stock. So they’re refunding me, and it looks like Rockauto has some so I placed an order there. Fingers crossed I guess.

I went with the True North Fabrications DIY kit. I was originally going to get the Coastal Off-road kit but their price went up when the True North kit went on Black Friday sale. Hopefully I can get this put together soon as I’m working 50-60 hour weeks for a little while longer.

I don’t have a GoPro. I’ll do my best to document the build of it though.
It's easier with a garage. :angel:
New to me 08 Limited 4WD. First thing I had to fix is the rear hatch release button. Mine was absolutely melted away and now with subzero temps it was basically unusable. The screws for the button and as well for the license plate lights were all rusted out and stripped. See second pic...
Hit em with the wd40 and then extracted them and replaced with all new stainless hardware. I know when I eventually go to replace the license plate bulbs I'll be glad I did this when it was off the truck. Plus it looks way better and the button is back to normal now.
Next when temps outside aren't below freezing - radiator replacement. Already started hitting those bolts with wd40, hope I don't break anything although I can tell its going to be fun since one of the front skid plate bolts is sheared off. Other three are still there. Going to anti seize the new stainless hardware when I get them out. Now to buy a tap and die set...
