Finally got the chance to finish my camp lights 2.0. Came out great and 10x brighter than my last set up with Amazon lights.

Sorry, it was from Alibaba.com, search for a 4Runner grill. The one I found was $78 and sold by Jiangsu Duode Auto Technology Co., Ltd. It took quite a while to ship but it made it.

Sport hood
Was looking for a camping truck with that hood, looked for a long time and could not find one that didn’t have a problem with rust, happy with current truck but hope to do this one day, lol when all other projects are done
starting prep to wrap this sport hood I picked up for $200.

Installed a new alternator (OEM reman, $232 from Cobb County Toyota) and have a tip. I typically haven't had issues with stuck bolts so I didn't use PB Blaster before the job. Everything came right out except the 10mm bolt on the lower wire loom bracket. Do NOT round off that bolt!! It's easy to do b/c you can't really get a socket on it due to the tight quarters. I rounded it and had tried everything I could think of with no luck. Fortunately, my wife was out and was able to stop by Harbor Freight and pick up a set of these extractor sockets. With all the other bolts out, I was finally able to wrangle the alternator to a position where I could get the extractor socket on it and break it loose.
My battery was also shot. How shot? On Toyota's machine, my 665 CCA True-2 battery tested at 8 CCA. No wonder it wouldn't start. :rofl:
The prorated warranty was at in the 50% time frame but they didn't have any of the True-2, so they offered the TrueStart lifetime battery at 50% off retail, which worked out to $85. That seemed reasonable.
Found some rust under the plastic tray and on the bracket so I painted both with rust reformer and hosed that body area down with Fluid Film for good measure.
Reinstalled the tray and battery and the truck is back on the road.

Finally tackled replacing my EVAP core and heater core and recharging the AC. It took my most of a Saturday to pull the dash, replace the parts, and button it back up. Then another hour or two to charge the AC. Bottom line, it's a big job, but very satisfying to save the money in labor.

Forgot to mention that I completed the double-decker shelf delete through a parts swap with [MENTION=709322]Wile Kyote[/MENTION] . Note the “waterline” on the wheel well trim where the shelf used to be.

LOL. I have some spots on my rig that make me do the same. Luckily its very localized and I have plans to take care of the problem areas. I'd like to think a lot of members on here have been there. Unconditional love though haha

This counts as today, I think.
The wife and I tagged along with a club based out of Las Vegas called Battle Born Toyotas for a night run on a trail called Rocky Gap in the Spring Mountains west of Las Vegas and east of where we live.
I’ve run this trail once before in the daytime. There were two 3rd gen 4Runners, two 4th gen 4Runners, two 5th gen 4Runners one FJ Cruiser, a half dozen Tacos and one JK wrangler. Finished the trail after 1 a.m. about in about 5 and a half hours. Two recoveries, first a 5th gen turtled on a large boulder and had to be pulled backwards and the other 4th gen almost rolled into a wash no thanks to the nanny cutting power to the motor when his rear started to slip. Some nifty snatch block action and good to go.
