What did you do with your 4runner today?

I did the same thing, but on the factory wheel. Probably bought the kit from the same place too lol. I could have spent more time doing it, but overall it came out amazing for the money.

Sidenote, is that a 5th gen wheel? Looks like quite a bit of a refresh over the factory wheel, I like it.

Received my TNF rear bumper last week! I painted it one day, installed the next, ran a new license plate light and relocated my backup camera under the 3rd brake light over the weekend. Pretty happy with the result!

Removed the stock bushings from spare set of LCAs, what a pain! Going to sand them down, paint, clear coat and install some poly bushings for a spare set. Oh yeah, pulled the ball joint boots, still good grease.

Bolt in swap. Takes a little bit of metering knowledge so you get all the same functionality of the stock wheel though.

Finally replaced the sticky trunk handle and rear lock actuator as well. Old one was rusted out.

Pressure washed and 303’d the floor mats. Good as new! Looking at the best paint to use to blackout the interior. I like when the lower half is black and the upper half is gray on cars. Mainly just want a paint that matches the ultra flat part of the upper dash or door panels.

Found this ultra matte black spray paint at the hardware store but hardly ever does paint match the cap haha

Still in the planning phase at the moment. May happen during summer if I can find a good paint match. Already found black carpet for $167 from stockinteriors.

After 10 years or so of use on my TYC face-lift lights, it It was time to correct the yellowing oxidation on top nest the hood. I used a Cerakore restoration kit off Amazon and I have to say, it turned out great...it took about an hour with cleaning and sanding, but they look far better then they did before...I hope it lasts at least 5 years before I need to do it again...

Drain and fill on the transmission. Easy peasy until you knock over some old transmission fluid in the garage. That will turn an easy job into a cleanup nightmare.

You should see if you have an automotive supply shop locally. Look for the SEM Color Coat paints. This are what interior repair guys use. Should be able to find a very close match.

Thanks! I'll check them out. Looking at the list though, I only see 3 different blacks offered? Gloss, satin and landau. In some light, it looks more flat but in most pics it looks like it's glossy. Maybe I'll order a can and see how it goes.

Finished my front and rear brakes. All OEM now and it’s pretty sweet. Went that route b/c I got all the parts with Toyota’s online discount for essentially the same as an aftermarket kit like the PowerStop Z36 kit I had for years. I just ordered parking brake shoes and hardware (aftermarket this time) and that’s next. My parking brake has never worked right and I wish I had thought to take a pic while I was doing the rear brakes. The p/b shoes were this weird off-white and had a chalky powder on them that I removed with compressed air.

Went in a water crossing that was deeper than I thought. Got some water in the cab and now having some issues... center diff lock light flashing, airbag light flashing, and the driver door thinks it's open.

Anyone have any idea where to start troubleshooting these gremlins?

The quickest, cheapest and one of the best resulting mods on my entire build.. have a few more leds I’ll update this week and will tackle the climate control module when the 3mm leds arrive but overall I’m beyond happy with the results. No more 20 year old factory dash glow.

I'll have maybe $100 into this entire led conversion and that includes getting a new decent fine-tip soldering iron form amazon.

fluid replacement

I had my oil changed at Jiffy Lube and elected to use a new year 15% discount on transmission fluid. I had the front diff, rear diff, and gear box fluid replaced for $80 each. I was glad to have the $240 drop to $204 with the coupon.

I did something similar, took a couple days but once it dried out everything has been fine. Might be worth it to wait till the end of the week and see if they stay on. Definitely check your diffs for any water incursion though, don't want to blow those.
