Seat cushion mod

Just replaced old OEM 08 4runner bottom seat cushion with a new cushion and seat cover from The Seat Store/Durafoam made for 2010 Chevy Tahoe/Silverado. Not a perfect OEM fitment but overall not too bad, but a game changer as far as comfort, wider and longer seat for thigh support. Amazon did not have grey cover in stock so I had to go with black for now. Pretty straight forward swap, forum posts on here helped quite a bit as far as seat/pad removal. Hope that helps someone seeking a more comfortable seat cushion.

Replaced carpet in my new to me 2003. Took my time cleaning 20 years of muck and sticky soda residue. Console and shifter were particularly dirty. Carpet was out of a 2004 Limited which had front end sheet metal damage but no frame damage. Shame because there was not a speck of rust anywhere.

Finding 4XInnovations ended a LOT of research when I bought my sliders. I challenge any manufacturer to match their quality, value, and customer service. Even the shipping was far less expensive than some competitors. Got them raw and painted them with Rustoleum Black Stainless Steel Metallic. That's been a few years ago and they still look great. Solid product.

They also make great stencils for accidental mud art. :thumb3:

Timing Belt Job

Spent the weekend replacing the timing belt on the new-to-me 04 V8 w/ 122k. Previous owner never bothered to change it at 90k.

Had a few hiccups that made the job take far longer than anticipated, but happy to have it done. I used the Aisin kit from Amazon, no complaints at all.

I also replaced the serpentine belt and tensioner, fan bracket, and a few bolts/nuts that had seen better days.

Biggest issues were some stubborn bolts that required buying a new, slim headed 3/8" breaker bar, and the thermostat cover had one corner seize to the bolt. Ended up breaking the cover getting it off. Also, the left-side cam cover had one bolt hole crack in half requiring some JB weld.

All-in-all I'm pretty happy having done it myself rather than taking it to a shop. This is definitely the most involved automotive job I've completed to date.

I recently did the timing belt, water pump, both exhaust manifolds, front calipers brakes and rotors, rear suspension, driver side cv axle, oil change, air filter, wipers , transmission transfer case and diff flushed and filled. New rims and tires but I didn’t take any pics of it get. Just bought this vehicle last month and the previous owner just neglected it for a while. But this is what she looks like now.

More surprises in my new to me 2003. Rear left door lock actuator jammed which jammed the door pull. Some wiggling got it unstuck enough to open the door and take door card out. Turns out door lock cable was installed incorrectly by the last guy who was inside the door. T4R was not at fault. All good now.

Nice! I got mine a few weeks ago. I ended up trimming some of the clear part away so it would fit where I wanted it. It's a cling, not a sticker or decal, but it stays right there, no problem with the window going up and down or in the carwash. I'm 55K away from the next one.

More progress on the uncool city slicker T4R. Replaced gas pedal assembly. Previous owner had shaved bottom two inches off to clear something, maybe a shaggy carpet?? Replaced stock front skid plate with a junkyard item. The old one was caved in. Did not see any damage to radiator support or frame. All good.

Replaced stock front skid plate with a junkyard item. The old one was caved in. Did not see any damage to radiator support or frame. All good.

I believe there was a TSB to have all the toyota dealerships cut the bottom of the gas pedal off around the time when all the stuck gas pedal lawsuits happened years ago. The real cause was ill fitting or multiple floor mats.

I was wondering about that. Cut seems a little too neat for DIY'er. Anyways, my foot would slip off the pedal which is no go for me. Donor pedal was from a 2004. I have Weather Tech so jammed mat should not be a problem. (I have issue with WT's fit but that is something else.)

I remember that TSB, had to decline it for months after it came out.
When I got my 2007 Sport new, I didn't realize that 1" square cover was missing on the shift console. Finally bought one.

More progress on the Uncool City Slicker today. Received and installed used OEM rear mud flaps.

A few posts back, I thought I had found the source of this dash noise but I was incorrect. The noise turns out to be Air Mix Damper Servo located on the left side of the HVAC air box. Luckily for me, this actuator is easy to replace. Noise is gone.

I think the TSB was done, good thing I never got that done,
also I have the OBX sport pedal covers on, it did not even interfere with my original mats, I did have the all weather mats on top of the carpeted mats.

once I swapped out the mats with the Husky liners, it didn't interfere, but my foot didn't like the mat area at pedal. side of my right foot rub at the spot of the liner.

so i returned them and used Weathertechs, it was better for me, and side of my feet did not rub at the same area anymore.

Me too. I smh every time their commercials brag about their “laser-accurate fit.” Their “solutions” didn’t work either so I asked for a replacement in case I got a bad apple. No dice so I figure they’re all that way.

My WT's were made late 2022. With seat at lowest height, the mat does not clear the track runner and jams. First and second row do not clear track runner. For the price, that's far from ideal.

On a side note, I have WT's in my Mercedes and the fit is perfect.
