Thanks! Ah, I needed to cut some of the old spare tire tabs off the cross piece and cut the bumper plastic, but thats about it! Oh, also 20mm longer bolts for the 4 that mount it to the trailer hitch location.

Replaced my two-year-old Spec-D headlights with TEQ retrofit headlights.
The Spec-D headlights were certainly better than my original headlights, but overall the quality of light was decent at best. Also, after two years the lenses were already clouding and yellowing.
I took advantage of the 15% off Labor Day sale and ordered these lights from TEQ on 03 SEP. I wasn't expecting to have these until December, but I received shipping notification on 06 OCT and they were delivered to me on 12 OCT. Really happy with how they turned out and the lighting performance is excellent.

new headlight looks great. how is the light output compared to the spec d?. i have had the specds for over 5yrs.my only major gripe is the poor light output. was considering replacing just the projectors. are the 2.5mm or 3mm?.
could you post a zoomed out shot showing both headlights with the halo on? -- i mean of the new headlights, and also the link of where you bought them.

Swapped leather steering wheel for a 2005 vinyl wheel. Rim is thicker and vinyl is cleanable which suits my needs better. Transferred over the remote radio control and harness to the new to me wheel.
Replaced left rear door lock actuator / latch assembly. Action was sometimes weak so took the opportunity to swap in an Aisin while a T4R was available at the junkyard.
The same JY truck yielded hood release and gas door release handles, both of which had broken mounting tabs and were loose in the steering wheel lower panel. The donor panel was in better shape so it went in.
Replaced one "Airbag" plastic cover in upper C pillar molding.

Update since i think this is relevant and i cant post yet. Today i finished removing and trimming both front fenders about 2-3" and mated the safari snorkel to my Afe ProdryS cold air intake. safari snorkel rubber piping fit right into the inlet for the CAI, what luck haha.
Feel free to judge and make observations, I've only seen one write up of how to do this on an FJ cruiser.

Looks good. You might want to relocate your washer fluid tank. Those 35's are going to rub on it

Planning on doing that within the next few days. Benefit of living in the northwest is never needing fluid 9 months out of the year, so a smaller tank will be just fine. There's always something else to do lol

how is the output? at least the cutoff part, are they aligned correctly, do the 3 inch drop at 25 feet, we are too high for that 2.5 inch drop.

looks like they used those aftermarket reflector 03-05 housings. no spec-d housings used here. this is why you can do more. don't waste your time on your spec-d housings for a projector swap.
New rear vents
While I've had the rear interior panels off, I've noticed the air flow above 30mph would cause the rear vents to audibly flap. It was always apparent when closing doors as the pressure would push them. I'd come across a post on a 4runner blog about replacements that are redesigned with a filter so I decided to order them. I noticed a difference on the first drive and it was very obvious when closing the doors as they didn't flap like before. Pretty easy install, just remove the bumper cover and pull the old ones off.

Rusted front cat support
Recently my "exhaust manifold stay LH", or the front cat support bracket, rusted through and became wireless. My first hint was a squeaky noise at lower speeds/gears. I was relieved to find this as opposed to something more serious. After some time finding the parts, I was at least able to remove the bracket by taking the top 2 bolts out.

I'm currently determining the best method moving forward so I can attach my new bracket. It's hard to tell what I'm working with, but I think the cat flange is just a flat piece with a hole that's possibly threaded. Can anyone take a picture or at least describe how the parts are connected?

Oops, I should've been more thorough on that end- Vent Solution– Four Cam
They have a DIY version that reuses the existing vent housing, but I figured I'd just go completely fresh anyway and do the assembled version. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it. Quality work, it shipped fast, and I got to support a small business at the same time.

Fixed rear hatch latch. Release motor ran until it detected a jam and then locked. Took off interior panel and manually released. Turns out catch was corroded. Took catch out and reversed it to present unused side to latch. Applied spray lube to the latch. I thought weather strip might be jamming the door so pulled it to find rust on the sill below the catch. Scraped, cleaned, oiled, and straightened out. Don't know if that helped but it was worth doing.

Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.
I picked up an 08 Sport V8 model that joins my wife's 5th gen in the garage. It's in great shape overall and appeared to be in great shape inside until I started looking under things and found enough hair to make at least three more dogs.
After pulling out the seats, console, and all the plastic trim I *think* I have the majority of it clean. It didn't really smell like a dog at all (the PO did a good surface detail) but I have my ozone generator running in it now to take care of any smells and it should be good to go. That was a lot of vacuuming...phew.
