What else is needed in upgrade?

I am a new member and have been researching the hell out of old threads. Here's where I am...
I have a 2003 V8 Limited 4wd with 50k miles. I ordered the Shrockworks front bumper a few weeks ago. I just ordered a Toytec Ultimate 3" Suspension with Bilstein 5100's. I have 4 new Bridgestone Dueler A/T RH-S in 265/70/17 that will replace the factory tires. All of these purchases (besides the tires, I have always liked the mileage of the Duelers) were based on several recommendations in the threads I have read. What else should I consider? This T4R will be my commuter and vehicle for hunting trips. On those trips there will be lots of forest service roads and driving through fields. I currently also have a 2004 V6 4WD SR5 with 150,000 miles that I will get rid of. It has a Yakima Load Warrior basket that I will transfer over to the 2003. I have owned a 4Runner since 1988 but have never done anything to them besides normal maintenance(oil changes, break pad replacement, etc...) So, what else would you consider?

sounds like an excellent start. i would reccomend some rock sliders if you are on service roads and logging trails... they pay for themselves after taking one solid hit.

Also, a bit ricey, but I would upgrade all your interior lights to LED so you can see when out in the sticks. If I had one complaint on the 4Runner, this would probably be it.

I used to drive a vw jetta on logging roads, if he is only going hunting a couple of times a year, while always nice to have them, they are expensive and probably aren't needed especially with the extra 3in of clearance he just got

Living in northern maine, i've driving plenty of logging roads.

With logging roads they have to be good enough to be able to get the logs in and out, there not going to leave big rocks in the middle of them.

Thats cool obviously the jetta couldnt go everywhere but it had no problem handling most logging roads, certainly some old ones it couldn't.

I think the OP should look into upgrading headlights and lighting thats would help out alot with driving in the woods.

I would recommend the following:

Map light mod-its cheap and easy but makes a big difference at night when trying to find something. It should have been that way from the dealer.

Tail pipe mod- Cut off the resonator and route the exhuast out the side just behind the rear tire. On my SR5 it completely eliminated the sulphur smell when you "floor it". I think it looks better too and is less likely to get bent by a rock or something.

You might want to think about a winch if your going offroad alot. I personally like a winch to be removable, on a cradle, wired for front and rear use.

The rest is up to you. Spend some time on this forum looking around. There are some very nice modded 4runners out there.

Just finished up. The front end is too high but I ran out of light. Few clicks will fix. Installed the Toytec Ultimate 3" suspension with SPC control arms. Also went from stock tires to Bridgestone Dueler A/T's RH-S 265/70/17. My old suspension and control arms are for sale in the classified section of this forum.

yea cause i mean your on logging roads and you never know. maybe something is blocking the path... a fallen tree? stumps will jump out and get you too. happened to my dads f250. left a nice dent in the rockers:happens:
