What funny/weird/cool things have people said about your 4Runner?

i'd rather it be called a jeep as opposed to an nissian armada...that happened to me yesterday when i stopped by an autoshop asking for prices on some labour.....needless to say i left little disgruntled and dumbfounded.....an armada...really dude? AN ARMADA........looks nothing alike and you work in an autoshop......:flamethrwoer2:

haha right, i could see maybe a nissian patrol, in fact that would be flattering, maybe even be mistaken for a pathfinder...but an armada...that's just over the topolice:

I held out for months looking for the right 4runner to buy and immediately mod the hell out of. I finally found the 'perfect' one for a solid build project, and bought my '98 5-speed about 3 weeks ago.

I had it home literally 15 minutes when I was standing in the street taking a picture with my phone to send to my brother out of state. A man I'd never seen on my street before came by walking his dog...

"You getting rid of the old truck?"

"Hell no, I just bought the thing. If all goes as planned it'll be on this street for the next 14 years of it's life."

"Oh, I was hoping you were selling it. Really, 14 years old? Sweet" :trophy:

I had a kid in the Target parking lot tell me mine looks great for a 2002, he would give me a good price if I want to sell it, he looked shocked when I told him it's a 1996 with 265k miles.

I also have a 2004 LJ Jeep with 45k miles, fun to drive in the fall but can't hold a candle to the 4Runner. If I was driving to California tomorrow, I'm taking the 4Runner.

Pathfinder!???

I would say that at least once a month someone calls my 4Runner a Pathfinder! In my neck of the woods, we have lots of 4Runners and Pathfinders and lots of other trucks... The Pathfinders are generally rusted out, where as 4Runner owners, tend to look after theirs more! (I guess after spending that much money, we tend to be more attentive...definitely worth it!)

My son just came out this afternoon and asked: "what again is wrong with your truck?" ...REALLY? Just because I wash it, or like today: do some rust treatment, or tune it up, he thinks there's something wrong!! When he gets his learners' license, I'm going to have to teach him the facts of auto ownership.....

My landlord stating "I took my wife's Honda CRV up the mountains the other day it's not quite cutting it. How much are you asking for your 4Runner? I'd like to buy it."

Two days prior. Sold a rug on Craigslist. Guy who picked it up asked "You selling the Ducati? I'd like to buy it."

I will be moving to Scotland in a month so the 4Runner and Ducati are going to sold here soon. Don't even have to advertise to sell my vehicles.
