What is the single best mod you've done to your 4R?

I haven't done many but it has to be relocating the exhaust to come out the side. I can finally open the rear window!

Any mod you do (especially DIY) is awesome. My favorite is my custom built CAI. Most recent was installing my new headunit. Waiting now for my amp to arrive to rig a nice little kicker.

My mods are few and simple. The best was changing out interior incandescent lights for brighter LEDs. Only other mod was having tint film professionally applied to front door windows. Otherwise, wife and I are quite happy with the features that came with our '08 V6 Limited 4WD.

Nice retrofit HIDs. Stock halogens were trash! That's pretty much the only mod I've got besides really little stuff.

As far as my "best" mod,,, I dont know, Im very happy with all that Ive done to mine, they all have a purpose/need.

Customized Daystar lift: 1) gave me the ground clearance I wanted; 2) put CV axles at the “designed” angel (completely parallel to the ground); 3) As a bonus: after the lift, well known 4Runner’s driveline hump disappeared
I believe that was the best $210 I spent on any mod (price includes Lifetime Alignment from Firestone).

Hands down would be lift and tires. The biggest thing holding back a stock T4r is the ground clearance and stock tires.

Is there a huge issue regarding exhaust fumes coming through the rear window because of the rear exhaust placement?

While the truck is in motion it should be fine, is the issue when you stop?

For me adding the FJ springs and Fj Bilstein shocks made a huge change in the ride so thats my fav!

1) OEM Navi
2) LED OEM tail lights (make my rig look new)

When it's not blazin hot I will vent the sunroof and crack the rear window to get some air through the vehicle. The exhaust gets sucked up into the cabin.

Most my cruising is interstate so it's a pain. There's plenty of threads on the forum about it.

Single best mod on my 03 is the XM sat radio on my pioneer nav system. I travel 65 miles one way to work so its a must for those long boring commutes.:guitar3:
