What kind of bulb is this?

This bulb is out of my 99 limited. It illuminates the up/down switch for the rear window. I've searched autolumination.com and superbrightleds.com for the correct bulb and I can't seem to determine what size/type it is. Any help is appreciated.

I think it might be these:

$3.99 at autozone. Should be the same bulb in the HVAC controls and the light under your shifter icons (P,R,N,D...) and for the ashtray.

If it isnt what is posted above, then it may be an led. It looks very similar to the lights in my 05. Is the green looking top rubber and does it come off?

yeah it comes off, but it's just the plastic coating that makes the light shine green.

I'm 99% sure that is a Neo wedge bulb. There are three different types though, A,B, and C. I think you have to measure the base or height to distinguish between the three.

No, I'm pretty sure it isn't a Neo wedge bulb because I just used those to replace all the bulbs in my climate control unit(limited) but this one is noticeably longer at the end and it doesn't have a slot for a screwdriver on the bottom, I had to use needle-nose pliers to get it out. Maybe I should just breakdown and go the dealer tomorrow!:bash:

Alright I am almost 99% positive that is an led. Here is how to verify. Look at the wire contacts on the base. You should be able to unbend them and pull the small bulb out of the plastic base. IF you can do this then it IS an led. The bulb isn't but the size of a grain of rice and when you take it out the wires will still be attached. Take this to your local electronics dealer, Radioshack may have them. Once bought reinsert the bulb into the plastic base and install it back in your dash.

Do you remember which size/type for the upper part of the center console? The ECT button, window switch, etc).

4runr30...I have to disagree with you. If you are saying just because a bulb can be removed from its base with the wires still attached makes it an led, I would say you are wrong. Basically what you are saying is that all neo-wedges must be leds which is not the case. Toyota does not use any leds in our 4runners (that I know of...only giving a 99% certainty on that statement ) [/B]

I stand corrected. When I asked my local electronics guy what it was I was told it was an LED. Thank you for the great info!!!

its a type 'A' neo-wedge, i just finished my interior LED upgrade.
