I use both sealant and carnauba wax. Clay bar the car first, apply the sealant then the wax.
I have found these products to be excellent for the money!

If you want to apply protection every 4-6 weeks (possibly less depending on the exposure your vehicle gets), use a wax.
If you want to apply protection every 3-4 months (possibly longer), use a sealant. It has far better protection qualities than wax and todays sealants give as good a gloss and shine as a wax. You can put wax over a sealant, if you choose.
Great sealants are Collinite 845, Blackfire Wet Diamond, or Menzerna Powerlock. These are best applied to a totally clean surface that has been washed, clayed, and polished but it is not totally necessary every time. I personally clay and polish once a year - too often is no good - and not to say very time consuming.
I maintenance wash every week or two followed by an extra 10 minutes applying a spray wax (like Optimum Car Wax) or a quick detailer. Doing this regularly can make the sealant last 4-5 months depending on conditions.

Thats OK. That wax will be gone in about 3 weeks anyway. Seal it then.

meguiers tech wax 2.0 in the summer.

Tech Wax works excellent! I use either this or Meguiar's NXT wax on my mag grey TE.

That's cool. In that case, try Klasse AIO (All in One). It's amazing.
And your right..... Detailing right takes a lot of time but if you use the right products and maintain it, it lasts a long time. Your finish will look great 7 or 8 years from now when others look like crap raising your resale..... And you'll take pride in your ride!!
