What Paint to Use Rear Fender

Hey guys,

I am wondering what you recommend to paint my rear fender? It's a sandy texture and would like to keep it the same way. Here is a picture of the bare spot:

My recomendation is to get a small angle grinder and use a scuff pad attachment and feather those areas that are chipped and smooth out the rest, then use Duplicolor Bumper Black Paint. Remember, that is sitting above your rear window, and I would be inclined to think that if you paintedd it shiny, it would allow a reflection back into the window. I sprayed mine the Bumper Black and and bunch of other things also, love that stuff.

Ok awesome, thanks for the advice. I'll have to see if I can get an angle grinder. And is that bumper black color a soft non glossy black so that it won't reflect? That's how I'd like to keep it

IMO I'd strip it with aircraft stripper, prime with self etching primer, and top coat with 3 coats of Rustoleum satin black. I painted mine with satin back in June and it's holding up fine.

Wow I just checked out videos on aircraft stripper and that stuff is crazy! I don't have an angle grinder so I'll probably just get some of that. Then prime and then paint. Those chips have been bothering me for a while.
