What setting is everyone using with a 6112 setup?

Mine should be on this Sunday. I may just try the 6112's on the 5th settings on both sides matched with the Dobinsons 505's on the rear and just manage the lean if and when it happens. If it does lean a bit chances are I won't care enough to do anything about it. I also have one of the OME spacers for the rear as another option should I be bothered with any lean. I'll be sure to report back.

mudhippy88 Matters by body is sore!!! Kdss is a pain but the ratchet strap method works like a charm. Damn kdss/sway bar. No lean! Good luck!!

Do you mean to hold the piston in place or by using the ratchet to pull the sway bar back in position?
.

Used the jack to keep the kdss supported and yes used the ratchet straps to bring in the sway bar. That ish was a bish.

Well, I should have had my suspension all done by now but I received a text from the installer (a really great, knowledgeable guy) saying there was a problem. One of the shocks had an issue where the threads of the piston rod were damaged or never completely connected from the factory. Needless to say the mechanic got a face of oil and I'm waiting on a response from the website I bought them from. Hopefully things will be resolved this week.

mudhippy88 Matters did you guys ever get around to install?
I currently have mine setup on the 7th notch for both sides and planning to install this weekend.
I also have the T13s for the rear.

It seems the majority of what I've read is to keep the clips at the same for KDSS.

Thanks for any update you can provide!

Nice! Thats exactly the setup I'm leaning toward. In detail I've decided 6112 front, rear 5100's with a T13 spring. Still haven't got a "Setting" for the 6112's figured exactly, but I'll be hoping to achieve approx 2.25-2.5" in front with a gentle/subtle rake to the rear (Less then stock)

How'd yours turn out?

Hopefully the website makes it right....quickly! Hate to hear when stuff likes this happens. Its definitely a bit discouraging when purchasing aftermarket parts.

On a side note, what setting did you decide to go with on the 6112's?

5 on the drivers side and 6 on the passengers side.

How'd yours turn out?.

front center wheel to bottom of fender i'm getting 22.5 front L/R and 23.5 (ish) rear L/R. I plan on measuring again next weekend. i want to drive it around a bit and look for dips and bumps to get everything knocked in. also to let everything really settle before i get my alignment. i'll hit you back up again next week.

Need advice

I have a 2016 trd pro with a 2 inch toytec lift for the trd pro. Was wondering if a front diff drop is necessary... The truck was at the dealership last week and I had a guy tell me its absolutely essential in order to protect the front cv's. Anyone know if this is true? I have heard of many people lifting 3 inches and they are fine with no drop.

I've got my 6112's set at the top notch on my TRD OR w/KDSS. Just under 2.5" of lift in the front.

Running the 5160's in the rear with the Sway-A-Way rear coils (1.5" lift). I'm currently getting 2" lift on the rear.

No additional weight.

I am running the 275's KO2s but my measurements are from the center of the hub.

NICE! I got mine done Saturday, glad to hear it went well. It was exhausting.

No, you do not need it with a 2 inch lift....You can even confirm this with Toytec.

I have a 3-4 inch lift, and I do not have the diff drop, due to it not providing much/if any benefit to a 5th gen 4Runner.

6112 KDSS vs Non-KDSS

So I started replying to this on another thread, but figured I'll reply here as well. Since a lot of people are running this setup and this question comes up a lot, it will be good to have as many eyes on this as possible.

Bilstein is using my 4Runner for some development and outfitting it with the 6112/5160 combo. Mine has KDSS, and I've been told they're updating their install instructions for KDSS 4Runners.

During the process, they've found that the front left spring on KDSS 4Runners is slightly shorter than non-KDSS. From what I understand, the springs are NOT the same. For KDSS 4Runners, no offset should be needed...confirming what a lot of people have already said, left/right settings should be the at same level. On my 4Runner, they set the rings at the tallest setting on both sides. As a result of no offset, KDSS 4Runners has a net total up to 2.9" of lift vs the 2.5" of lift on non-KDSS 4Runner.

The springs they've installed on the 5160's are prototype Eibachs. They match up perfectly with the 6112 setup up front. There are 3 different configurations of the spring: 1" lift, 1.5" lift, and 1.5" heavy. The "heavy" springs are designed for rigs that are loaded down with heavy mods/armor. Bilstein is looking to release them soon, but date is TBD.

I'm planning to get some aftermarket UCAs, but they didn't have any issues with stock UCAs.

Wheels: 17" SCS Matte Dark Bronze Stealth 6. Tires: 275/70/17 BFG KO2s.

Here's the lift at 2.9" front, 1" rear.

I'll try to answer questions as best I can. Please bear with me if I don't know the answer, as the 6112/5160 setup (and 5th gen 4Runners) are new to me. I am not affiliated with, nor endorsed by Bilstein, so none of this is official until they published it. I'm just trying to give a heads up to those with KDSS and 6112s.

If anyone is wondering about my join date and post count, needless to say, I'm a long time lurker. I had a 2000 4Runner, but posted mostly on Yotatech. I'll be posting and getting more involved here at T4R.

Ever get your issue resolved Matters ?

Yes! The website I got the 6112's from was fantastic and I had the replacements installed Sunday morning. Went with both fronts set at 5 and 5100's for the rear with Dobinsons 505 springs. I also had a 10mm OME spacer installed on the passenger side and I have roughly a 1/2" lean on that side. This is pretty much the exact same as stock. I'm not bothered by it. Things are still settling but as of right now I'm very happy and impressed with the ride.

Thanks to FN wheels and Mike at Dobinsons. Both were extremely helpful and I couldn't be happier with the customer support. It seems to be harder and harder to find companies that I don't hate giving money to. ;)

Car is nice and dusty from a little drive today. Wanted to test everything out.
