What setting on 5'100's?

Im in a bit of a dilemma. I ordered a lift kit from bilsteinlifts.com Bilstein 0-2.5" Lift Kit With Rear Coils For 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner . The kit comes with rear coils i chose the 1.7-1.8 option the other one was 2.25-2.3 . Should i have chose 2.25 or just got a different brand coil overall I don't see anyone using bilstein rear coils on here. I recently replaced my tires with 265/65/17. I didn't know at the time my shocks were all blown. So that's another issue im having how odd will it look with my vehicle lifted on stock tires. I really wanted to put a rim and tire package on hold for another year. Should i just level out the car and wait (bilstein set to .85 and not install a rear coil). Or eat the cost and get my rim and tire package now. I can buy it now but I would have wasted 600$ for what I paid for my tires that are a few weeks old. Im going to do the labor myself so it wouldn't cost me anything besides alignment afterward. So lets say the car looks fine lifted with the set up I ordered . What setting do i choose for the front struts 1.75 (assuming I install the bilstein rear coil the kit brings 1.7) ? Would i need to buy a coil for the front? if so what would be good ome883 , 884 etc?

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. In reality i just wanna buy the rim and tire package the proper coils i need to do the job and do it once and done. I really don't wanna redo the job twice. But the money conscious side of me is thinking of the money wasted on the tires i recently installed and the added cost of a rim and tire package and extra coils i would have to buy. If anyone has any pics of a 4runner lifted on stock 265/65/17 tires that would help me also.

It’s tough to answer without specifically knowing your goals - off roading, tire size, towing etc etc

Long story short, I actually think the 4th gens leveled with 265 65 17 look ok/better than stock. I went to all terrain 265 70 17 and didn’t see a big difference in aesthetics.

Spend 10 min scrolling Through the lift and tires central thread. On page 465 is a picture of mine leveled - stock springs 265 65 17 and Bilstein 5100 front at 1.75 (the previous page has mine with 265 70 17 falken atw3

Its going to be hard to guess what the outcome might be b/c those lift figures are based on showroom ride heights and dont factor age or condition of current suspension. Worse case is that youll have to move the c-clips to gain what it is you want.

Thx for all the posts. I'm thinking I might store the rear coils for now and level the truck out in front. I cant justify spending another 2k on wheel tires and coils. I live in Florida the most off roading I'm gonna do is at campsites. Not to mention its 2wd so in reality I wouldnt dare take it offroad. Just want the looks. In all honesty I purchased this truck to do camping and road trips around FL mostly on weekends. To have a active lifestyle if you will. I want to keep a good highway ride as well. For now seems like cheapest route is level out . It does look damn good leveled. I thought to level out was second notch. 85??

yea depending on the vehicle, level can be 0.85 - 2.5, id shoot for the under number because you dont want a reverse rack.

for me the 1.75 came out pretty level with a V6 4x4 and stock springs at ~ 125k miles.

I think my springs are due to replaced. I do occasional towing and that was rough on my stock springs, so I would like to replace those. Additionally, with some mild trails and off road, I would do better with longertravel/ compression range of the struts and shocks and so going with a bigger spring and 0 in the bilsteins will help out with that, so thats my next move.

Here's my before and after on stock wheels and tires... toytec 2.5" springs front and Daystar 2"spacer rear on bilstein 5100s all around. It won't look bad IMO. I'll do tires and wheels eventually but I'm very happy currently.

What tires are those 265/65/17? I think if I get ome 884 and the bilstein springs I got with the kit 1.8 it should look about the same as that? How does it ride on the highway?

Yes, 265/65/17. It rides awesome. I opted for the Toytec 2.5" springs to get the height I wanted while using the lowest perch on the Bilstein strut. It rides better than the stock XREAS (which had no issues... just age)

At 1.8 you will have less lift than I do and I don't think stock tires will look funny at all. I don't foresee handling being an issue either.

Im going to install the kit, level it out I believe in the 3rd notch 1.75. If im not pleased with the height. Ill order either new springs or spacer kit. Ill post pics hopefully next weekend. Also I have a daystar 1" leveling kit I was going to install before realizing my struts were bad. Would it be wise to install it along with the 5100's so i can put it at the .85 notch? Would that put any less stress on the strut or is it essentially the same thing because im expanding the strut?
