What's everyone using for storage boxes in their T4R?

Do you mind sharing some photos of what you store in the side compartment there where that rolled up moving blanket is... I've always wondered what people are putting there since I use to have a closed door compartment there in my 3rd gen.

Nothing elaborate. Moving blanket, small cooler bag for water, fire extinguisher, and the orange bag behind the cooler bag is the first aid kit.

I keep 2 Ziplock Weathertech boxes on the roof rack. They have a foam seal in the lid's groove. Found an old Buick trunk net, added 8 carabiners, chains and locks.

I think boxes are like $15 ordered from Walmart.

Total cost is less than $75. Since the stuff I keep in it is harbor freight supplies for less than $200 I cannot justify a more expensive cargo system for things I rarely access.

When we took our road trip, I bought 3 plastic bins from Walmart. They were cheap and kind of see through which I liked so I could tell what was inside. The tops were held on with a clip latch on each end. I had a fair amount of weight in each with tools and supplies. The problem is when I picked one up, the plastic would flex and the top would pop off or loose.

So next time I think I'll go with a more rigid bin with hinged lids.

I recently moved from using the plano sportsman totes to these Remington totes, which are weather sealed and much more rigid. Great alternative to the plano cases if your looking for something a little more weatherproof. The size is pretty comparable, they are just a few inches shorter.

Plano bins from walmart. Lightweight, cheap, NOT durable lol, easily maneuverable (i organized the bins with certain gear so I can remove them as i find unnecessary).

Yeah, it's not super deep. 3" sounds pretty close. I was surprised though by the amount of crap I could fit in there!

This is my third iteration of storage boxes in my 16 so far. I am paranoid about stuff flying in the case of an accident. Will try and post some pics later this weekend.

I have some weight rated straps hooked between the back two tie down points. I bought 4 FrontRunner Wolf Pack boxes, added rated tie downs oops as handles through the side holes of the boxes, and used rated tie down loops/carabiners to attach them to the strap across the back. They are up against the back seats, side by side, stacked 2 high (2 across the back fit perfectly). I also just ordered a Safari Straps, heavy duty, cargo net which will be hooked to all 4 tie down points and cover everything.

Each of the wolf pack boxes is modular so I can remove them when needed.
1) Recovery gear
2) Tools and roadside emergency
3) Emergency / survival / food / water
4) Air compressor, tire stuff, misc

If I go camping, I can removed the survival/food/water etc because I would have all that stuff in my camping gear. If I just need space to haul something I can remove all or a couple boxes easily. Prior to this I had 2 different single, very large, boxes that were too big and cumbersome to move easily.
