Wheel Spacer Question

So i had purchased 1.5" wheel spacers second hand about a year ago. The other weekend i managed to over torque a nut and broke one of the studs. Since the spacers were not blue, i assumed that they were not the spidertrax and must have been the all-pro spacers.

I purchased a single spacer and well...



As you can see the original on the left is not all-pro. So my question...

Can i run a mis-matched spacer, or will the likely different weight due to the larger lip cause issues?

I doubt it will cause "issues" but there will probably be a vibration from the different weights. After driving 1500 miles with a vibration like that I would suggest getting one that is not so different or getting a matched set.

You just need to make sure the OD of the lips are the same. The ID's aren't going to matter once they're on.

I honestly don't see how it would cause any issues. The larger lip wouldn't cause any imbalance because the spacer itself is still balanced unless I'm missing something.

You wouldn't mismatch your tire just because they're the same size would you? Less material is less weight, and there for would cause balancing issues once the tire were to be rotated. While it's not ideal to mismatch them; I doubt anything is going to happen since you're talking ounces per spacer.

Still don't get it. tire assembly balanced, spacer balanced. Where does the imbalance come from? Is it across to the opposite tire? Plus the extra material is very close to center so there should be no real inertia difference. I'm sorry if I'm being stupid. I'm not saying anyone's wrong. I don't have wheel spacers.

The OD if the lip is the same, after all they are both hub centric.

I question the comment about vibration as well. They are balanced and any small weight diff(ounces...) is damn near the center.

thats not how studs go in. they are pressed in not screwed in.
