I can't believe it, but I almost have enough cash saved up for some new wheels. Never put aftermarket wheels on any of my vehicles previously, so this is a new experience for me. You can see my current tire, wheel and suspension info in my signature. I am running the stock UCAs. I have been searching and reading all the different tire & wheel threads and pics. I have examined the BS calculation chart and I know what widths & offset/backspace parameters I am looking for to determine what "fits". My question I guess is what combination fits "better"....if any
For example...2 wheels I am interested in:
Black Rhino Imperial is 17x9, -12 OS which equals 4.5" BS
Method MR301 is 17x8.5, 0 OS which is 4.7" BS
Both of these will "fit", but will either one fit "better"? Basically running the stock UCAs has me concerned about rubbing on the body mount with only being able to get a +2 caster or so. If I am understanding the fitment guides right, as long as my BS is within spec and the suspension components are cleared from rubbing, a narrower wheel with similar BS to a wider wheel should in theory be less likely to rub or rub less?
Maybe I am overthinking this and the body mount chop isn't a big deal? Plenty of people on here have done it, so it must not be that big of a deal. Does it just involve taking a hacksaw or sawzaw and cutting the extra long section of the body mount back to the bolt? or is it more scientific than that?
