When do 2012's come out?

entune nav system

According to this new article posted, 2012 Toyota 4Runner has different options for base, Limited, SR5 and Trail models

It appears the Limited is the only one that can take the JBL Navigation system now. But it looks like the other models come standard with Entune, which is a navigation system too, right? I thought Entune is better than the old Nav system, since it has all those new app features. Anyone know about this? I would rather have Entune than JBL.

From article -
2012 Toyota 4Runner Limited grade: The is the only grade that offers as an option a JBL premium system with navigation.

2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail grade: A new audio system includes navigation, Toyota Entune services, XM Satellite Radio and HD Radio with iTunes tagging and text / email-to-speech. Entune is a collection of popular mobile applications and data services, with three years of complimentary access.

I would wait for the official Toyota release. That article claims there are four levels of 4Runers:

Base
SR5
Trail
Limited

This immediately leads me to believe the writer probably has all of his information mixed up.

He also claims the 3rd row will be available on the Trail, which would be a change.

My guess is, by Base he means all 3 models (SR5, Trail, and Limited) will get those features. And then the other models he listed are the features specific to those models.

There were 4 articles though released on the 2012 4runner on the same day so someone at Toyota had to give the information up.

I hope the trail gets the rear view mirror camera and side mirror turn signals. I don't care about the running boards though.

I just ordered my 2012 Limited this week. It will be in sometime in November. This will be my first 4Runner!

If you don't mind me asking, how did you order it? Just through a local dealership and they informed you when it would ship I'm guessing. Can you talk them down on prices if ordering a car, similar to looking at one on the lot?

I may have to order mine too since I'm looking at a Trail with certain features that I doubt will be on the lot at most dealerships.

All of this seems very interesting. Dealers are ordering 12's but Toyota's site still has only the 11's. With the 12's so close (if you believe what is written) to coming out, why are they not on Toyota's site yet. They put a lot of their other vehicles up before they are actually on the lot, why not the 4R?

what to do??

I would agree. I am in the process of buying a new 4runner as my wifes car died this week. According to Toyotas press release, the new 2012 4runners should be arriving late October. If you notice that press release was only from about 2 weeks ago. I called several dealerships around town and they all had different answers. Also, had a testy call with a sales manager at one of the dealerships because he couldn't understand why I would want to wait a week for the new model year. I really need to get a new car so I should probably just get an 11, but a '12 sounds so much better! :-)

.. and I realize the '11 and '12 models are almost identical.

Thanks!

Yeah, I've had dealerships tell me different things too, but it seems most are saying mid-november.

Personally though man, if you plan on getting the entune option, the wait is well worth a week or even a month. Entune looks pretty nice compared to the old nav system.
