When will 2012's come out?

In the market for a TE. I could buy now, but probably won't do much off-roading until the fall. Made me wonder if I should wait for a 2012. Any guesses when they will come out?

They normally do a year change in the fall but who knows given events in Japan. 4Runner is one of the models affected by the tragedy and some are saying supply could start to be impacted by the end of this month. Don't expect a lot of changes in 2012 (apart from another price hike I would guess).

Usually the next model year vehicles are available for order in Sept for Nov. Dec delivery.

I suspect the quake issues will be resolved in a month or so. The Japanese seem to be working very fast to fix everything, though the reactors are still the wild card.

So i assume there is no fear of something drastic for the 2012 like a new direct injection engine right (better gas milage)?

I have a feeling we wont see any major design changes until the middle of the model cycle maybe 2013/2014. But I am hoping for the same thing you are:bravo:

They are already announcing vehicle and part shortages expected in the US late spring and summer. Enough to probably cause US plants to have to shut down due to lack of parts. I wouldn't be optimistic that things will happen at the same time, later this year, than they have in years past. The Japanese are among the most resourceful people on earth, but recent events will take a lot of time and effort to recover from.
