I used the second lowest setting, the second groove up from the bottom. It's the groove that the Bilstein instructions call their "0.5" AVERAGE LIFT". The grooves are about 10mm apart. Did the install myself, but used a local 4x4 shop to compress/remove the factory spring hats and reinstall on the 6112's. The change in ride height is about 1.75" average between the two sides.

The CV axle is about one inch away from the strut.

Here's a side view, looks a little nose high to me?

Can you get on a level concrete surface and get a ground to top of wheel well measurement on the front and one on the rear for us?

Thanks in advance!

Here's what I got for measurements in the garage, from the ground to the top of wheel well:

LF= 36 1/8" RF= 36 1/8"
LR= 36 7/8" RR= 36 3/4"

Hope this helps.

I posted this on 2/15/15 in another thread.

found a parking lot yesterday that was really level, went back today and measured front drivers & pass side ground to top of wheel well, in height on my truck (34.5").
Measured rear, no difference height drivers & pass side (36.5").

No lift, no change in springs, stock height from the factory.
No KDDS

MEASURED TONIGHT LEVEL LOT
Only difference: Now wearing BFG AT KO2's
Fronts 34 7/8"
Rears 36 7/8"

Correct me if I am wrong here, please.

If you started of at the same measurement as mine is currently (stock). We don't actually know because you haven't posted the original height.

LR/RF height = 36 1/8
Starting height = 34 7/8
Actual height rise = 1 1/4

Still way off from indicated rise heights on Bilstein diagram.... but not quite 1.75" rise either.

My original front measurements were: LF= 34 3/8", RF= 34 3/8", rears have remained the same. Might have settled a bit from my original measurement. Definitely a lot more than the .5 of an inch average the instructions stated.

Ok, thanks for that clarification and correction on the height....
All I was going by was my height!

I appreciate your response, posting pre-lift numbers.
Looks like your T4R started off lower than mine for whatever reason....

EDIT: Do you know/can get the height of the OEM springs?

Yeah, mine looked really low in the front from the factory, so I thought the half inch or so would be a nice change. Going to have to live with the 1.75 inch change, because I'm not going to tear it all apart again:) Might just add a spacer to the rear eventually, but it's close enough to level. I wonder if the instructions are just generic to all vehicles or specific to the 4Runner.

I wish Bilstein measurement was more precise. I want a 2" lift, guessing which ring to set it will not be a fun process. A 0.5" setting giving you a 1.75" lift is way off to me. =/ looks like I'll will have to wait a little long before my install. Well, for now, waiting for my SAW rear coil to come in.

Magnetic4R - im gonna let you do your first so you can tell me :)

You order your SAW from Wheelers? When i called them they said shipping was going be $30…I laughed and hung up and ordered from Mudflaps.

Well, got the 5160s in after a debacle with UPS... Thanks Mike/Chas.

So have the 6112s/5160s/1.5" rear coil spacers (to see if it is as nice as it was on the FJ)/Wheelers Super Bumps (best $50 you will spend on the suspension)/and the SpiderTrax 1.25 wheels spacers all ready for me to install in the morning... only to find out my alignment guy is out this week attending SXSW in Austin! :redbrick::redbrick::redbrick::redbrick:

You got bump stop extensions for the rear?

Find another alignment guy :)

Been using the same guy for over a decade... started with alignments for my and my customers Rally cars. He is the only other person who may touch ANY of my vehicles in any sort of a mechanical sense, and all that started because I didn't have room for a nice Hunter alignment system.

I spent I lot of time talking my customers OUT of things they didn't need, or into more than "good enough" for their application vs the latest, greatest RACE part. (Zeusmotorworks is no more BTW) Full on hydros are absolutely better than superbumps. However, Superbumps are generally about 2-3 times more than 99% of people need which puts them firmly in the really nice to have category without paying with your first born.

Their should only be two options in UCAs for anyone who doesn't truly wheel the shit out of their truck. Light Racing or Camburg ball joint UCAs. The latter being my most favorite by a large margin. PM me if you need an explanation why, and where to get the Camburgs with Moog ball joints already installed as that is a pita for anyone not having a press and knowing how to use it.

Oh, and people will tell you that you don't need the UCAs with these 6112s... that is only true depending on how high you go, AND how you truly intend to use the truck. I believe anything 2" or more is in the realm of needing to look at UCAs for something that will actually see time with a wheel off the ground.

I wish I would have seen this thread sooner. So i had my 6112's installed today. I wanted a 2" lift so i set the snap ring to the 4th setting (out of 5) because the instructions that came with the kit stated the 4th ring location was good for 2" of lift. I ended with with way more of a lift!!! Im going to buy some small coil compressors and try to compress the coils enough to lower the snap rings 1-2 settings.
I didnt take measurements but im guessing i got over 3" of lift.
