Where to get a car alarm installed in chicago

Does anybody have any recommendations as to where to get a car alarm installed in the Chicago land area.

I'm looking at the Clifford Matrix 3.5 with the remote start.

It seems like most of the places I call don't really know what they are talking about so I'm pretty sure they won't be doing a very good job installing with such a complicated system.

The best place I know of to install anything is a place called Car Toys in Tulsa, OK, but don't really want to have to drive from Chicago to Tulsa to have a security system installed.

Do not have best buy or a stereo shop install your alarm. The installers at a stereo shop are concerned about two things - how to get it done fast, and how to make the most money off of the job. That makes the install predicable by theives. Any thief knows to look for exposed wiring under the knee bolster and pull. 90% of car alarms will be silenced in 2 seconds that way.

so what do you do? If you want a quality alarm installed properly, find a car alarm expert. They are out there, and most of the time they will work out of their home or come to you. Check craigslist and google. After you find them, check for certification and refrences. (ASE certification is maybe a little much for an alarm guy, but never a bad thing. MECP certification is good if the guy takes it seriously) You want your alarm guy to be reasonably shady ('reasonably shady' is actually the term edmonds.com uses to describe a good alarm installer on their "Top 10 Ways to Steal a Car"), but not the kind of guy that will steal your VIN and credit card statements while he works.


I hope this is helpful. As the shady alarm guy in colorado front range area, I absolutely LOVE 4Runners! Especially the newer ones, cuz there are so many sneaky places to hide the alarm system that you would never think of looking for.

Carnica in Des Plaines installed mine. Matt was the guy that did it. I'm not sure if he's still there since that was about 4 years ago.
