Which Mods Does Your Significant Other Disagree With?

I'm sure I'm not the only one with a significant other (Fiance) that thinks some of the mods I've done are stupid and ugly. What are some things that he/she doesn't see eye to eye with you about?

My Fiance this morning was telling me that my black bumper looked horrible and she liked the topaz color better. She also still makes fun of me for spray painting my rims. I keep telling her it is cheaper than buying new and considers my black rims to be ghetto. Also she is not a fan of the LED interior lights. Says I'm too ricer. Apparently I have a cheap, ghetto, riced out 4runner.

Wive's, Fiance's, and girl friends are all the same... for the most part. My wife gives me crap for spending money on the 4runner, yet loves what it looks like and enjoys the looks she gets when SHE'S driving it!

That being said, I think your mods are good, I would have kept the Topaz myself, as I'm never a fan of black bumpers, unless the rig is black.

Again, it's up to you though... if you like it... who cares what Fightman, your wife, or anybody else has to say about it! lol!

My wife likes what I have done so far but has informed me that she doesn't like the expedition look - snorkel, lights on the roof or bumper and roof baskets. We will see how things go as I continue to mod it - locker, rear bumper with tire carrier, rear cargo storage are the next few mods that I see raising questions, but they will happen regardless.

My Fiance is the same way. She loves driving my 4runner and being up higher. I understand your feeling about the black, but I just felt the 4runner had too many colors going on. I actually just saw some new rims a friend is coming out with that has a bronze that is very close to my bumper color. The same color rims would be the only way I'd keep the topaz.

Yup, the money I put into my 4runner is one nagging point. I just tell her we have different interests. She has her clothes, tans and pedicures and I have my mods.

Yeah she wouldn't be into all the expedition stuff either, but in the end it's my 4runner and my choice. BTW I will be in Thousand Oaks the beginning of June (8-12). I might be heading down south a bit more to meet up with some of the other SoCal guys if you down to join.

I don't do many mods, in fact only about three and I get very few complaints. The verbal assault I receive from time to time from the GF is that my autos are too old; I tell her the reasons are that a: I don't want to spend the monthly payment on a high priced auto like her two year old X3 and b: if I did have that high, if any car payment, that it means less money to be spent on her.

Once reason b sinks in for her, any verbal complaining is reduced to nothing and the window to mod/wrench on my autos is reopened.

Anything that I've spent time or money on. So...everything. Haha. She likes how it looks though. The one thing she doesn't like are the interior LED dome lights which are too bright which I also agree with.

The exhaust in my truck is somewhat on the loud side. That coupled with the fact that i always drive with the rear window down doesnt exactly help with the noise level. That bieng said I absolutely love the sound of aftermarket exhaust Magnaflow is music to my ears

X's2 all I ever hear from the wife and kid is how high it is and it isn't even that high! Running boards!!!

My g/f, even though almost being 5'8", hates getting in my truck b/c it's difficult for her mostly since I took the sliders off. I guess the 5" of lift and 35's really make it sit tall. She complains mostly when she's in heels and I have to help her in and out. Which I don't mind, especially when she's in a skirt :naughty:

My Wife is always asking me when we can get started on her 4Runner. I guess I'm just lucky that I got her hooked on them too.

She's not a big fan of the tire carrier on the rear bumper, but that's more an opinion than a gripe.

My ex gf hated the fact that I didn't have a rear view mirror. Especially since it was her forehead that snapped it off when she wasn't wearing a seatbelt and I slammed on the brakes.
