Which OBDII for TPMS reset/relearn

What are the requirements for an ODBII to reset the TPMS tire pressure sensors?

Thinking of getting new sensors and they say use a ODB device to reset the connection to the car. I'm guessing the cheap sub $20 won't work, or maybe they do? Any one have any experience with this?

I picked up an Autel TS501 to “relearn” new OEM sensors. When I was investigating this about 2 years ago, I could not find any cheap OBD2 scanner to do that. It has to be a scanner specific for relearning and Autel was least expensive way I found to do that. It’s very simple to do once you have the proper tool.

Have you tried it? How do you get the TPMS system ready for programming / relearn w/o using the OBD2 port? I assume that step is still needed.

I use a similar one on my 2018 Colorado when I rotate the tires so the system learns the new location of each tire.
You don't use the OBD port at all, you go thru steps holding the tool near the TPMS sensor on each tire as indicated by a screen on the dash (in my case).

AFAIK it's a similar procedure on 2004-2018 Toyotas. I think it's a "Tire Pressure Learn" screen buried somewhere.
