My wife has a 2001 hilux surf 2.7 petrol 4x4 (japanese import)

i discovered this site by accident when 'surfin' the net so i thought i better sign up as you guys seem to take great care of your rigs and keep them clean which is my 'thang' too. :bigok:

Anyhoo, here's my rig....it's a 1991 hilux surf 2.4 turbo diesel 'wide bodied' 4x4 (now a 4.0 lexus v-8) hope you like.

...oh yeah, this is my wife's...2001 hilux surf 2.7 'wide bodied' 4x4....

Just bought a 93 with a v6, bad knock, need to do an engine swap. Came across the site while surfin for info. Been searching the threads, but havent found much info on the lexus v8 swap. Any pointers would be greatly appriciated, thanks.

I finally added some pics of my rig. I have had her since January 2009 and am completely amazed with this truck! I drove a Highlander before, now my wife's car, and the 4runner is so much better, IMO.

Hello all. I have a '87 22RE I bought in 1991 with 60k on it. Has 203k on it now, engine has never been opened up, AC still works! I live in WV so needless to say the qtrs are shot. Still runs well but has been parked for about year. This T4 has raised my kids with trips to the beach, camping and thousands of trips to work. My wife and I have decided to restore for a winter project. Does anyone know anything about the glss qtrs I see available from Canada? Also - is there anywhere to buy the tailgate window regulator/track other than direct from toyota?

Hello All,

My name is Steve, I hail from and live in Playa del Rey, CA near the beach side of LAX.

II sold my last T4R in 2006 and have owned a stock 94,95, 01. My LTD 98 had a TRD SC and exhaust.

In any event I have always had company cars so no need for personal driver

I have been intrigued by the Sport XREAS V8 for a while. IF you have ever looked for a 4X2 V8 SPORT Model you will soon realize they are a rare breed. Looked all over the US with back being my color of choice and finally found an 04 close by decent shape. Except for the fender wells...

I have a lot of questions on the V8 that came with the 04 but will save the bandwidth here and post in the appropriate place.

In the meantime GREAT site and please holler at me with any ideas, suggestions, tips on building my new ride into a polite street fighter staying as close to stock as possible.
