Who is running 33x12.5 tires?

It's not the width of the tire that's going to help you. It has to do with the proper offset and back spacing of the wheel itself. Either that or wheel spacers is how it's done.

Yeah I'm also thinking of going -38 offset wheels and ditching my wheel spacers.

Im running 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on stock TRDPro wheels and 1.5 inch wheel spacers. I rub slightly on the body mount right now. I also have Icon UCA so I may try to get the caster set forward a bit to see if I can get the rubbing to stop. :AK47:

285's Ridge Grappler, 18x9, 0 offset, 1.25" spacers and I still clear BM with ~1/2" to spare. But you should get UCAs and be done with it.

I'm running 285 Trail Grapplers 17" rims with negative 10 offset with spidertrax spacers 1.25". I also have aftermarket UCA. I had to do a body mount chop because I was not clearing at all. I also had to trim a lot from the bottom front fender flares. My tires stick out a little pass the bushwacker fenders. The picture angle doesn't really show.

Do you have any side profile pics of that setup?[/QUOTE]

It definitely needed a lift to round out the look. When I was debating whether to keep that wheel / tire combo, the first contingency for keeping them was to repaint them to get rid of those silly fake silver rivets, heh.

*edit*

Here is another pic that better depicts how it actually looked from most angles.

Your stance looks good. My option other than wider tires is just swapping out my 1" wheel spacers for 1.5 or 1.75" but I wasn't sure how much stress it would but on my bearings, etc.

Have you had any issues? And what brand of spacers are you using?

You had to trim the bottom of the fender flare? Or did you mean the fender liner?

I'm definitely looking for something similar to your set up. Do you have any more pics you can share?

I had to trim both the fender liner and fender flare. I'll take more photos later on tonight when I get off from work and pm you.

No issues so far. I'm running a set that I bought on amazon. I originally wanted spidertrax but they only make them in 1.25".

Bora makes all wheels spacer sizes. I'm running their 1" right now. They also make 1.5, 1.75, and 2". Wheel and hub centric.

I think I'm going to go with 33x12.5 ridge grapplers. If the tires are true to their specs, and if my calculations are correct, 33x12.5's would stick out 16.5mm's (.65inches) more than my current set up.

That's thinking the 33x12.5's are 33mm (1.3 inches) wider than my current 285/70/17's. Divided by 2 because the additional width would be distributed evenly on both sides of the wheel.

So with my current 17x8.5" wheels, zero offset, and 25.4mm (1 inch) from my wheel spacers, adding the extra 16.5mm from the wider tires , it would effectively be a offset of negative 41.9mm's.

That is very similar to people running spidertrax spacers at 31.75mm (1.25 inches) with -10/-12mm offset wheels for a total of 42-44mm negative offset.

I hope these calculations are correct. If they are, the 33x12.5's should fit. There seems to be plenty of clearance to my control arms because of the wheel spacers.

How's my logic/calculations?

It doesn't look bad, but I want to go wider and have my tires stick out more.

Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park windmill in the background? Nice to see another Mag grey TEP in SF.

^ adjusting wheel backspacing/offset probably best bet but imo that's a lot of $$$/work. Did you give your eyes some time to get used to it? FWIW, I think the wheels and truck/stance look great.

Unrelated: what sliders are you running?

With a 3" lift and 33 x 12.50 i had to chop the body mount, move the fender liners as far forward as possible which passenger side is only up to the water res, trim out an angle of both front bumpers, and also cut and hammer/fold in the pinch welds.

I see quite a few mags in the city, we are multiplying :thumb3:

I've been thinking this over for months now. The stance is fine, altho the tires look really narrow to me. It's just one of those stupid little things that bothers me haha.

hammer/fold the pinch welds? That doesn't sound fun. Are you running wheel spacers as well?
