Who wants a free dash?

May 17th is quickly coming, the day the Free Dash Replacement ends. I am able to get a new dash, VIN + Year + cracks (2 small) + Sticky (sometimes) = New. I have so much, in my opinion, custom wiring in and under the dash, center console, and kick panels that I don't think I want to have a Toyota Tech trying to figure it out, or cut it all out to replace the dash. I could remove as much as possible myself and put it all back together, spending hours, or just say I have a 2004 bought in 2003 with 95K miles and my dash matches the rest of my almost 14 year old truck.

Thoughts?

There isn't a loophole way of ending up with 2 dashes and selling one if that's what you are trying to do. Pretty sure the dealer needs your old one or something like that I have heard. If you take it in though, definitely remove your own aftermarket electronics yourself, glad I haven't done any of that stuff yet. You don't want a tech breaking or losing things.

It's towards the end of this month though right? Like the 31st is the deadline.

The thread title seemed to indicate that, haha.

Depends on how bad your dash is. Mine has a long crack along the sharp lip above the gauge cluster, and one most of the length above the glove box. I don't have any aftermarket switches or electronics installed so I am planning to still take mine in by the 31st. I'm a procrastinator. I'm not sure how many hours it'll take to unplug your switches and remove headunits or whatever, but it might still be worth it to get a new and improved dash that won't crack again for as long as you still own the truck. If you are like me, you can take this chance to improve your wiring or add a switch panel or another upgrade.

I'm taking mine in at the end of the week. I had no clue it was ending this month I just happened to pop in the thread to see how it's been going for others. Haha

That's basically what I've been doing as well I'm glad I did, because I just notice a crack on my dash today. I'll being swing my the dealer on my lunch brake tomorrow.

This is all that has shown up on mine. But I might as well get it replaced, since it's free. It's likely to only get worse over time.
