I got attacked by a Japanese Akita a few years ago. Got a hold of my ankle and my knee. Still have the scars.
Dog was super protective of family members. Was my wife's aunt's dog, I was petting him and everything was fine. Then the uncle came over to pet him at the same time. That was the end of that. Made my 90 year old grandmother **** her pants seeing that lol.
You have a beautiful dog though!

Oh man, so sorry to hear about your attack. I’m glad you're okay.
Akitas are amazing dogs. They were originally used in Japan as fighting dogs and to hunt bear. Now, they are a nation treasure and used to guard the Emperor of Japan.
Magnum is great with the family especially the baby. But he is stubborn and prefers me to anyone else in the family.

I can get 2 large crates in the back, with the sliding deck removed,and 2 medium crates in the folded 2nd row seat area. That's about 240-250 lbs. of gundogs. Guns and gear go on top of the crates.

Where at in Iowa are you? That is a nice size pheasant there :naughty:
I try to get back to my Dad's farm every winter and hunt his land. Every year I can usually get 5-10, unless one of his neighbors is a douche and leaves his corn in the field till the spring. Then I usually get skunked. :redbrick:

I'm in the Mason City/Clear Lake area, I hunt all over North Central Iowa and South Central Minnesota. Where does your dad farm?

He farms about 30 miles south of Waterloo. I haven't picked up my Runner yet. Got to wait till I move back to the states from Europe. Getting it from Seattle, driving to Iowa to visit family, then driving to Cali. Should be fun.
Did they ever fill the lake up there?

The lake had water all fall, but the marsh had been drained to build a new control structure and do the dredging. Most of the marshes in Iowa were low or completely dry do to lack of rain this fall. It made for some tough duck hunting.
