I'm love'in this stuff. I put on some Toyo Open County LT's in the fall and I'm amazed at how they're handling. Most impressive has been the highway performance. Unbelievable!
KellyJ, that picture is bada$$. Your runner looks like some kind of hell spawn SUV.
Also, anything more than 1" in Ohio is considered the "White death". Really kills some of the enjoyment

I did not enjoy digging out my 4Runner from under 21" of snow this weekend (Southern MD). I eventually found my baby and plowed her over the top of all this mess and went to Lowe's that day. She is so awesome in the snow!
We're getting 14" of more snow tonight!!!
My daughter made a crazy looking snow lady. LOL

Actually that's only in southern Ohio. We routinely get quite a bit more up by the lake and most people are used to the the snow routine.:wink2:

True. My mistake. I should have mentioned that the Lake effect group is not included in that. Toledo, thru Sandusky and past Cleveland knows what they're doing. Most drivers south of Mansfield are a liability.

Gettin' pounded again!
My 4Runner doesn't even have 2000 miles on it yet and it's already seen more 4WD time than any other 4x4 I've owned. I'm watching my MPG gauge steadily decrease becasue of it too.

I live in Northern VA. 50 mph winds and getting foot of snow today. So far about 6" and it won't stop for another 8 hours. ON top of that, the neighborhood was never plowed so it's condensed into 6" of ice. So all this new snow on top of that ice with 50 mph winds = I'm going nowhere today. This winter is starting to suck.
However, with the new Revo 2's I plowed right through 25" of snow yesterday without a problem. They look really nice, and are great tires if anyone is needing new ones.
Also, I don't understand how cities like Buffalo can get pummeled with 3 feet of snow and it's cleared within a few hours, but in Fairfax County, the 4th richest county in the States, we can't clear it even 4 day's later. I don't know whether Buffalo is that good, or if the Virginia Department of Transportation is that incompetent. Either way, thank God I'm moving to Houston next year.

Yeah, I agree with you, VDOT really needs to get their act together. To be fair, this kind of severe winter weather rarely happens in our area, so most of the people who work for the road clearing services are new to this kind of event, and the state's budget for snow removal has never needed to be so large. Where in NoVa are you located?
Man the wind sounds awful outside my house, wonder how it will be getting around today

At that time of the morning I was half-way through clearing the 6 inches of snow we got overnight. After 3-4 hours at work I came home to find another 12-14 inches of snow. Time to head outside and move some snow.
BTW, the 50 minute (usually 15 min) drive home from work was GREAT.
The 4Runner climbed some seriously snow covered hills with EASE.
Saw a stuck city bus that closed a street. Too bad I forgot my tow strap at home

Well I just had my new 2010 4Runner TE out in the snow. Wow what a truck. It's still snowing and we have about 8",we're supposed to get 14". I think my TE is way better in the snow than my 2008 FJ Cruiser was. It feels so much more stable. I always thought the FJ had minor bad issues in the snow. I now have over 1000 miles on the 4Runner and I will say I like it better than the FJ in every aspect. The FJ is no slouch, but the new Trail Edition is off the chain.

The thing about Buffalo is that they receive a lot of snow every year and have come to expect it (check out the Blizzard of 77). I think they also use more 'Canadian' methods of snow removal. There's a small article here about Buffalo.
We got a pretty good storm here in NE IL yesterday, dumped about 10" but nothing close to what the east coast has been getting hit with.

Fairfax. Right around Fair Oaks Mall. The wind is awful. I just shoveled and the wind tore my face up. Feels like a really bad disposable razor shave.

Sounds like Virginia. We rely on everyone's 4Runners, Titan's, Tahoe's, etc. to make trenches for everyone else. Every time a plow is on the road, he isn't plowing!
Once again its days like this that reminds me why i enjoy driving the 4runner in crap conditions. We are getting pounded with good high winds and snow here on LI and Im lovin it. Wife has a big meeting tomorrow for work and says that she needs some stuff for it so we desided to venture out in the 8-12 inches with my 3 year old who loves the white stuff as much as me. Unreal the way this truck is in the snow, just start it and go, never think about anything else except the other spazs on the road. About 20 mins into the drive my son falls asleep, so what to do? Well as every sane father would do of course...keep driving untill he wakes up and let him enjoy his nap while I get to play in the snow right!?!? Good stuff that 4runner is, good stuff INDEED.
