Why no 4X4 badging?

I just came across this thread and find it quite amusing. I just keep picturing Antman as an "old timer" and fighting back...

I've had a lot of fun on this forum...seen a great deal of generosity and met some genuinely great people. Sorry to those who haven't shared the same experience. Tones and intentions often get lost in translation on the internet but none of the folks I've personally met (to include all of the "offenders" in this thread) are malicious. A$$holes, sure - but not malicious. ;)

Time to let this thread die off and get lost....the next guy asking about 4x4 badges won't search and will just start a new thread anyway.

This thread kind of reminds me of the isuzu trooper guy againts the gizmoed 4runners, don't you guys agree???

Its a good thing I'm on vacation. Jayhawk5G has a chip on his shoulder and feels entitled to everything. I have read most of his posts so I have a good idea. He trashes us old guys but how much help has he given? None. I have spent hours some nights to figure some problems out I get from members on pm. Antman, Harper, Pat, Dave and others go the extra mile. What do you do? Oh that's right, you take and take some more.

I honestly don't even know what you are talking about? What do I feel entitled too, some common courtesy and respect? What chip, what have I asked for that is offending you? I think if you were honest which you won't be your upset about the diesel thread still, that people didn't bow down to your opinion and understood the desire for a diesel option for the 4Runner… (it seems like every day another diesel model is announced by the way). I have given help by contributing in a productive way, I don't troll threads I don't type out vulgarities and try to stir the pot.

You are right I don't make threads about oil changes as I take my vehicle to the dealer for those, and I haven't lifted my 4Runner so I haven't made threads about that, contributing isn't something as simple as a do-it-yourself thread. What do I take and take some more, oh I know the crappy attitudes of members in the 5th Gen section….

and that being said I don't want ANYONE to feel they can't ask a question for fear of being ridiculed or intimidated....many, many folks here have gone out of there way to help other forum members, at many times to their own personal cost.....all the while in the name of shared interest in a product....I think that's pretty cool....and I'm very thankful for the good folks I've met here....and I looking forward to meeting those I haven't yet. I think what we share here is exceptional, Iv'e been involved in forums for the last 8 years and have never seen so many folks get along (...go on picnics?....go wheeling??...GO CAMPING???) We do have a few that need medication, and are in denile, and may suffer from a drinking problems, but outside of that were a regular bunch...

I hang out a lot on Mud, and have a lot of fun there, but this place is like Romper Room compared to there....I guess it's not for the faint of heart...lol

I do appreciate what jayhawk5 is saying, and I also admit that occasionally the fun may get out of hand...but I've never felt that I couldn't ask a question...(and I've seen a ton of missed opportunities when someone let loose with a real doozie) and hey, if it was that stupid that I should've been donkey punched... I deserved it!

p.s. Memberships to the Kool Kids Klub can be purchased for $25 a year...checks payable to Antman....

Well put. Besides, isn't being berated to "use the search bar" a rite of passage around these parts?

I don't want to alarm anyone.......but I think we've scared away the OP:embarassed:

Poor fella is probably on his way to the Nissan dealership to sign the papers on a shiny new Mallfinder

Shrockworks front bumper + Toytec Lift + Total Chaos UCA + RCI skids + Shrockworks sliders + Goodyear Duratrac 285/75/17 tires + MT rear bumper = 4x4 badging

After that if they have to ask it is hopeless

Dunlops, of course.

I figure Toyota removed the 4x4 badging for some sleek modern marketing consumer focus group b.s. reason.... Doesn't make a ton of sense because they sell 4x2 trucks also.

And yes I agree, these guys are dicks..... I can only guess a BMW or Porsche forum would be worse :lmao:

Thanks to all the key players in the making of this thread. It has definitely been the most entertaining part of my day.

Just get a Jeep "trail ready" badge and slap it onto the left fender. Or maybe "rubicon" stickers on the hood.

I wanna know why we can't get those cool stripes on the side any more.

...and when did they change the logo?

well you could get a Jeep Liberty with its Trail rated badge. I had one and they would not warranty it saying I had water in my rear axle. Remember this was a vehicle they show coming out of a lake.

I am happy with my 2013 4 Runner
