Thanks, Caleb! I just started this thread yesterday, so you haven't missed much. I will be finishing up the C4 Fabrication slider install and adding it along with the fuel tank skid to the thread. Hopefully tomorrow. I am still waiting for the bedliner to dry...it wasn't ready after a couple of days, but I just got back from a snowboarding trip and they seem pretty much dried.

I bought my Cooper Bussman Offroad pre-wired. Do you have to wire up the entire Bussmann or do you already have wiring looms coming off?

I purchased mine on Ebay from Cooper Bussmann Offroad

The guy does a great job wiring everything up, and it was worth the extra $50 over the price of an blank Bussmann.

So mine came looking pretty much like the picture below. All I did was:

- Hook up the fused line to the battery, ground wire to the body chassis.
- The 12 gauge accessory wires are for your lights, compressor, etc...they stay in the engine bay
- There are 2 sets of 16 gauge wires, one for your switches and 1 for unswithed, full time 12v.
- I pulled the entire set of switch wires in through the firewall, and 3 of the unswitched.
- The unswitched leads inside the firewall are used to power your switches and future accessories that already have a switch, such as a CB radio.

I had picked up the same one from Ebay. Very helpful thanks! Hopefully I won't run into too many problems.

I am really happy with the sliders and the way they turned out with the bedliner! I am sure it would have been fine with the paint finish I had on previously, but the bedliner makes me feel more sure footed. I have used them in the snow and rain so far and don't even think twice about using the step. I feel safe even stepping on the tube. The finish is holding up and I think letting it cure that extra few days really helped.

BTW, I found a stealthy place for your sticker, too. People have come up to ask about the sliders when I am pulling my surfboard out or changing into my wetsuit. I just point at the C4 Fab sticker since the lift gate is up and they instantly get it. Hope you get some more orders because of it from SoCal!

Whats your air up time like with the smaller ARB compressor and 265's ?

I've got 265 KO2's as well, might go 285 in the future, not sure if I should just go with the larger compressor.

Definitely very happy with the sliders and the fuel tank skid. I'm glad that I got those on before our trip to Sedona...already had to paint over a scrape on the skid! :artist:

Canvasback Cargo Liners

Quick mod this week. I was looking for something to keep the back area protected. I got the T4R all-weather floor mat and cargo package thrown in when I purchased the 5th Gen, but I wasn't stoked on the cargo liner. Mainly because I have the 3rd row and the all-weather cargo liner does not lend itself to pulling the 3rd row seat up in a pinch. You can cram it in the remaining cargo space, but it's a pain.

We adopted our new rescue dog Piper last week. Perfect excuse to upgrade the cargo protection! So after a small amount of research, I decided on the Canvasback cargo liners.

What I really like about these is that they are totally flexible. You can have any seat configuration (40% 2nd row down, 1 3rd row seat up, whatever) and these will accommodate. There is a zipper down the middle of the cargo area, so you can unzip that and have just 1 3rd row seat up at a time. The other thing I like is that you can request that the cargo hooks are cut out at no additional cost. I suppose I could have cut out the inserts in the all-weather cargo mat, but that mat had a tendency to move around. These Canvasback liners velcro in place and are a really nice fit.

So far my furry friend and I are happy with the Canvasback solution. The cargo area isn't secured in as many places as I would have thought, but I believe that is to accommodate when the 3rd row is upright.

I will update this post after I have had some time to haul some messiness back there, including what I'm sure will be a wet and muddy pup from time to time.

BTW, I have the extra leash hooked to her because she's a runner! It is just quicker to hook her up so that I can quickly grab her walking leash when I open the hatch without fear of her booking it. Not sure what happened to this poor pup in her prior years, but she is super shy and skittish. We are 1 week in and already seeing some good improvement in her demeanor. With time I'm sure she's going to be a super companion! She already loves the 4Runner and we love our new adventurer.

That's awesome! I don't know how much experience you have with rescues but I found the Cesar Milan (dog whisperer) books super helpful. I implemented a lot of his philosophies on mentally rehabbing ours and it really worked. When we got her she was skittish just like you described, was food aggressive and didn't like kids. Now she is my 3 year old daughters best friend and sleeps next to my 11 month old sons crib. She has turned into the best family dog we could have hoped for.
