Window Issues..Help!

Having some window trouble. When I try to roll up the passenger window with the automatic feature it gets to the top and then goes back about halfway down. From what I've read this is a safety feature in case something is stuck in the window, say a kids hand or the dog's head, but after checking all around there's nothing in the way. I have to inch the window up very slowly for it to close and its quite a pain, plus I just got this thing so I would like the issues resolved. Question is has anyone else had this problem? Would this be covered by the warranty? Is there a simple fix? Thanks for all the help. :thumb3:

I had the same issue. Used Auto Glym rubber and vinyl cleaner on a rag to clean the tracks, then sprayed a silicon lubricant in the tracks. Problem went away and has not returned (at least until I manage to get some more mud in there).

Might have to try the silicon lubricant because the tracks are clean. Ill stop by the auto store after work look around. Just one of those things you dont notice while you're at the dealership, only after you get home and try to roll the windows up.

Try this.... from a Toyota TSB

Power Window Motor Reset

1. Disconnect the negative (–) battery terminal. After 10 seconds, reconnect the battery terminal.
2. Cycle the ignition switch to the “ON” position. Halfway close the door glass by pressing the
switch. Then fully pull up on the switch until the door glass is fully closed, and continue holding
the switch for approximately one second after the door glass is fully closed.
3. Check for proper operation of the AUTO UP/DOWN function.
4. If the power window motor is still unable to close:
A. Cycle ignition switch off and then back to on.
B. Repeat steps 1-3.
NOTE
If the power window switch is continuously operated, the power window motor may stop operating
to protect the motor. Continuing to press the power window switch even after the motor has
stopped may cause the switch to blink and restrict the AUTO UP/DOWN function and remote
UP/DOWN function. If the motor protection function occurs simply wait several minutes and
then follow the motor reset procedure below.

Also, after disconnecting the battery ,all your radio presets will be lost and the first time you start it up it will stall after one or two seconds. That's normal.

Awesome thanks! Ill give the tracks another good cleaning and a little squirt of lube and give this a try.
