windshield wipers

Time to change out my wipers and wondering on what others are using and thinking are the best wipers out there. Just rain, no snow on a regular basis. Everytime I go to auto store there are so many brands/styles I get overwhelmed and flee.

i've been fairly pleased with RainX brand. that's what I have on right now (yep, OEM toyota one started smearing after 2 months)
 
I'm still running the original wipers. I have 20.5k miles over 1.5yrs in the PNW. The blades are still looking good.
 
Pep Boys had a deal, buy one RainX Repel, get one free after MIR. They are like $23-26 a piece but after the rebate comes back, it's the same cost as 2 Anco blades. So far so good!! First time I've spent more than $9 on wiper blades, so fingers crossed they last a good while.
 
My T4R still has the originals (only 6,000 miles so far)...
But, I have a 2007 Camry that I just replaced the wipers on for the very first time. I always apply Rain-X to the windshield. I just drove 10 hours in a steady rain & had the original wipers set on slow intermittent. The rain-x did the exactly what it was suppose to do. It also seems to help the wipers last longer....OR I have just been very lucky with wipers !!!

I agree. IIRC the dealer sells refills and it worked out cheaper than buying all new ones from the auto store...and they will haggle a bit on that kind of stuff.

Unless your original blades are ripped, a good cleaning should have them up to par again...
Try cleaning your blades with a towel soaked in alcohol first. You will be shocked by how much black gunk comes off! Then clean your windshield with a good product, like Invisable Glass. Just my .02. :)
 
I still have the original wipers after 20K. I clean them regularly as the Antman suggests above and I use the RainX orange windshield washer fluid. I use my wipers very little on the interstate because of this fluid.
 
Still running original here, at 24k miles on my 2010. No issues with them at all. (Now granted, we haven't had a lot of rain in texas lately. lol)
 
+1 to cleaning them regularly. I clean mine with dish detergent and a 3M green scrubbing pad. 1.5 years old, working fine.
 
I've not replaced the ones on the T4R yet but over the years I've tried a few different brands but always seem to come back to ANCO complete blade replacements for all of our vehicles. They seem to be more heavy duty in my estimation. Don't go to any of the Auto Parts stores but instead you can get them for much less, about $7 at Wallymart.

I've had rain-x latitudes for 2 years now and they still work like brand new. Threw all the snow and mud I've out on them a quick whipenwith a paper towel and they leave non streaks. I think I can get another year out of them.
They are 20 bucks a pop but I think it's very very worth it

Ditto. I have the same setup. When it comes time to replace them I'll be going with the RainX brand. They've worked well for me on previous vehicles.
 
RainX wipers

I tried Latitudes but noticed the upper edge of the driver side (24") has some trouble covering the glass. Now I'm using RainX weatherbeaters and the driver side streaks on the return wipe. I'll problbly go back to OEM since I haven't had much luck with aftermarket.
 
I'm a windshield maniac. Once a week I clean it with Bon Ami, and I use Bosch Icon wipers, cleaned with Invisible Glass. I never used to spend good money on wipers until I saw how the Icons work on my wife's car. Its a different world!
